 Sunday - Hot and Sunny

My alarm went off too early this morning. I woke up at 9:15 and then got up at 9:30. Yes me on a Sunday morning!

I got dressed, F had gone out and picked up some food for his mother and then came back.  We left just a few minutes later than F planned and got on the road to Sakata.

We went to a fish restaurant near the port. Happily, for me it wasn’t the one he’s taken me to before. It was a little busy, but there were still places to sit when we arrived. We ordered our food and then sat and waited. In all honesty, I didn’t like the restaurant. It was one of those Japanese order/sit/eat/get out places. However, the fish was really nice and it was so much nicer for me than the port restaurant, so it was an okay experience. F was really happy that I went along with his plan, so that was nice too.

I texted my friend, but we finished our lunch before she did! She couldn’t meet up quite yet. F and I did a little driving and ended up at the Sankyo Warehouses. I bought a few postcards and did a little looking around with F.

We went back to City Hall and met up with our friend. We went to a nice coffee shop and had a lovely tea and some nice coffee and cake.  F had the cheesecake, I didn’t. We chatted for a while and then we had to leave.

F and I got back in the car and my friend and her daughter went off on her bicycle. We met up at her house and spent an hour or so having a look at her new house. It was lovely to finally see all the places that she has been talking about when we got together.

Sadly, it was time to leave after a while. The house is hot and we were all overheated. We went our separate ways.

F needed to do some checking of routes for his work on Monday, so we drove around looking for various places. It was nice, but I’m afraid I found myself rather sleepy!

We went to Starbucks and tried their new Frappucino, the Chocolate Marron. It was nice. There weren’t enough chairs available inside so we sat outside and enjoyed our drinks.

We were driving out of Sakata and were on our way back to TSuruoka when F asked about dinner. I didn’t have any ideas so he suggested going to one we had just passed in Sakata. We turned around and went there. It was rather expensive but it was also quite nice. We both had chicken, but I added on the salad and soup bar, plus the drink bar. We both had drink bar actually. It was nice too. I enjoyed having drink bar and salad bar too!

We came back to Tsuruoka. F asked if we needed to go anywhere before the house, and we did. WE had to go to the grocery store. We drove over to our usual place and bought some food for next week. I had to replace some staples so it was a tad expensive.

We came back to the house and had a fairly relaxing evening. I had a shower, then F did too. K was up when we got back, but went to bed soon after. She had drunk some of the tea in the fridge which is good.

We had a quiet evening. I watched a lot of YouTube and so did F. Unfortunately, he tried to talk to me while I was watching videos. I finally had to go over and talk to him face to face.

And that was my day. It was darn good today, it almost makes up for tomorrow being such a waste of a day.

Come back later if you are interested and hear all about my Monday. What kind of day will it be?  Until tomorrow….
