Wednesday - Sunny and warm
I woke up really early this morning, before F, went downstairs and then came back to bed. F was just getting up for work so I said good morning to him and wished him a nice day before I went back to sleep!
I got up later, went downstairs and grabbed some water for my water pot, then brought it back up. I watched the news and dozed a little. I decided not to do laundry today, although I should have, but oh well!
I had breakfast and some tea, I even watched a bit of the US Presidential debate. No one was acting very presidential during it.
When it was lunch time, I asked K if she’d like some of the leftovers from last night and she would. I heated them up, took some for me, plated some for her, and then gave her the plate of food. I took mine upstairs.
I watched a movie in the late afternoon called Muse. It was a horrorish film, not too scary, not too good. It finished just as the news started so that was good timing! During the movie, I worked on my mask again, and got the elastic channels done on the sides. I think I only have one more big push, but I’m not sure how that is going to go.
Oh, and while I’m on the subject of crafts, here are pictures of the finished basket. I really like it, I didn’t think it would stripe quite as strongly as it did!
I went downstairs to start dinner around 5:40 and started making some kabocha and tuna salad. I had that mostly made by the time that F FaceTimed me. I also had the chicken about ready to go in the toaster oven and was cutting up onions and mushrooms for a stir-fry.
Dinner, when it happened a bit later, was quite good. We had Herb-Grilled chicken, the kabocha and tuna salad, the stir-fry which I put a bit too much soy sauce in, but was okay anyway. We also had some beets and a salad. K and F both had rice, I didn’t as usual.
I called F down for dinner then texted him. It is getting annoying how he never comes when I call him. I got him to put a few things on the table. He was okay with it, but honestly, should I really have to ask him all the time? Should I have to make 10 trips to the table when he’s just standing around? No, no I should not. I got him to put ice in the glasses and then put them on the table, but do you think he thought about getting the drinks out of the fridge? Snort.
I know that he was tired, but I don’t understand why it is so hard to get him or K to give me a hand.
Dinner was fine, I think everyone liked it. A lot was eaten, but not all of it. I started the dishes and K did bring a couple of glasses into the kitchen for me. Yay! I had washed the glasses and most of the plates when F came in and took over. I said to him that if he took over he’d have to do all the washing and drying and putting away too. He said he would so I finished up the things I washed and then got the heck out of Dodge!
I came upstairs and relaxed for a bit. F wanted to go to a convenience store and I thought it was fine. He asked if I’d like to go and I would. I didn’t get properly dressed, as it was just the convenience store. We were in the car when F asked about drugstores. Huh? I told him the location of a couple that would still be open, but we ended up going to MaxValu. I wasn’t too happy about it, but then decided what the heck, and at least I could get something for Friday’s dinner! I picked up a couple of things and made the discovery that they had peanut butter made out of just peanuts there! Woot. I haven’t seen that in a while. We didn’t buy any as we have some in the fridge…I really need to eat that sometime soon!
We came back to the house and since it was gomi day, I prepared the garbage to go out. F did help me in the fridge. His mother puts food in the fridge, but doesn’t take it out of the fridge. I don’t know which Japanese things it is okay to keep, and which ones it isn’t. He helped. I sent him upstairs to take care of his garbage while I washed his mother’s containers and then put out the garbage. It’s quite an involved sort of thing at times. I also changed the sponges in the kitchen. I hate using sponges, I think in North America we generally frown on using them, but F is all about them. I told him I changed the sponges tonight and he got all pissy about it. He said they were just getting to the right softness to wash dishes with. Yeah, right. They were falling apart and leaving bits behind. Plus, he kept using my cleaning sponge to wash the dishes with. Ack!
The rest of the evening has been quiet. I watched some YouTube shows since my WOWOW drama was half over when I came back upstairs. I’ll catch it tomorrow probably.
That’s about it for today. It was an okay day, but not a great one. I’m finding it a bit stressful being around F these days. I think part of it is reading back in my blogs and realizing that many years at this time, I’m back in Canada having good times with my family and my BFF. Sigh. Who knows when I’ll be able to be with them again.
Come back later if you like and hear all about what happens. Until tomorrow….
