Monday - Cold and rainy
I woke up around 8 am, went downstairs and then I’m afraid I came back upstairs and got back into bed. For a while I read things on my phone, then I put my head down and went to sleep! I got up a bit later, went downstairs and grabbed breakfast.
I had a fairly quiet day. I watched the third John Wick film. It was okay. I liked some of the “surprise” actors in it, but boy was it violent. I don’t know if I enjoyed it or not!
I had lunch and then around 6 or so I went downstairs and put dinner together for K and I. I basically just did leftovers from Saturday night, plus a can of smoked oysters and some cream of mushroom soup. K ate so much, I was a bit shocked. Later I realized that she probably hadn’t eaten earlier in the day, so was hungry. The thing is, she stays in bed all day. There is food in the kitchen if she wants it, but she doesn’t get up and heat it up or make it.
Anyway, we had a nice meal and then I cleaned up and went upstairs again. F called me about 20 minutes later to say that he was on his way back so I went downstairs and turned on the lights for him and got the cheeses back out of the fridge. When he made it back to the house, he had a bento that he’d been given. He heated it up and then we went upstairs with some cold meat for him. He ate and then basically went to bed right afterwards. He’s sleeping now.
I’m still up and I’m watching videos on YouTube. I’ll try and get to bed soon. I’m not sure what I’ll be getting up to tomorrow. I hope that it’ll be a good day. Come back later and find out!
Until tomorrow….

Oh my, maybe it's time to put K on some eating schedule? My mom was relatively functional until about 80 years old but then she started skipping meals, stopped cleaning around herself, and basically needed somebody to help her out during the day. She would even forget to get herself a drink and ended up dehydrated!
Hi Marta, thanks for commenting!
That would be a good idea, if there was some way to get her to follow it. I know there is a kind of "meals on wheels" thing here, but I don't know if she'd be eligible because I'm around the house most of the day. Thing is, I don't cook Japanese food and don't intend to start now. I think she needs a little bit of spoiling and feeding. When F is around, he's pretty good. He makes her Japanese food and they eat together, but I don't like eating Japanese food any more than I have to!
She does drink a fair amount of barley tea, which Japanese people like and think has restorative powers(I exaggerate a little), so at least she is getting some liquid, but I agree, she could probably take a bit more. In summer, she does get dehydrated because she doesn't drink enough.
I really wish she could see that we don't care if she uses kerosene in the daytime, it's much better for her than to lie in bed all day! She's a bit penny wise-pound foolish as my mother used to say.
Thanks for visiting!
