Sunday - Rainy and a little cool

Today was a good day! I woke up around 10:30 and stayed in bed for a while. I got up around 11 and then made some tea for myself. F came up a little later bearing coffee.  He wanted to go for lunch right away, but I suggested waiting a while. This area has had a few Covid19 cases lately and I think avoiding crowded places is a good idea!

Around 2 pm we went out. I had suggested either Jiro or a place behind the Pal shopping area. F liked that idea because they have ramen, so we went over there. Unfortunately for F, they weren’t open. We ended up at Jiro and had a lovely meal. I had beef stew with butter rice. It was so nice. F had a curry lunch I think. He had a hamburger and some curry. He seemed to like it.

After lunch we went to the new K’s Denki, or electric shop. It has just been rebuilt so we wanted to check it out. My dear husband wanted to buy me a heater for the kitchen. It is so darn cold in there this season that I don’t want to spend any time in the room. We had picked one out that we thought would do, but the sales clerk asked us where we were going to put it. He told us that it wasn’t powerful enough to heat the kitchen and suggested another heater. F and I looked at them and he looked them up on line and found the price of the one we liked was actually better in the shop so he decided to get it for me. Yay. He bought that and took the box to the car. I stayed in the shop and looked at ink for my printer.  I ended up buying some, yay!

We visited a nearby grocery store so F could get some money and then we went to a clothes shop nearby. I was looking for something for my nephew for his birthday. I got him a little something, I hope I can send it to him. I have to check the mail because Japan isn’t sending much to Canada these days.

I asked F if we could go to the bookstore next to buy my nengajo printing book. After that, I suggested going to Starbucks which is coincidentally across the parking lot! That’s what we did. I got my book, and some of the card designs are lovely. We had the same drink at Starbucks, a Macadamia Toffee latte. I liked mine, F didn’t like his much.

Very nice but a bit too sweet for F.

Over our drinks, we decided to get K a bento for dinner. F ordered one from his phone and we went along the road to pick it up. I asked to be let off at the Gyomu Supa on the way so I could pick up a few things. F obliged me and went to pick up the bento. I got a few things, including some of the ginger cookies I liked so much a couple of years ago. Yay for that. F picked me up and we drove back to the house, gave K her bento, I put away the food, and then we went out again for our dinner.

I suggested the new Indian place, but F wasn’t interested, so I changed to Gusto. He needed to get kerosene for the house and I needed to get groceries, so they’re all in the same area. We went to Gusto first and had a pretty decent meal. I had miso-flavoured chicken with salad and I added on a bun and soup. We had a cheap coupon for the drink bar, so we both had that. The restaurant wasn’t busy really and the food was quite okay, so it was a nice evening.

We left for the grocery store after 9 pm. I picked up some meat and some frozen shrimp for the next couple of dinners. F got himself some libations and then we left the store. We picked up kerosene on the way back and got back to the house around 10 I think.

Showers were had by both of us, and a quiet night in front of the computer was my evening. Nothing too exciting, but it was really okay.

This was actually a really nice weekend together. We didn’t argue or fight. F hasn’t been feeling the greatest unfortunately (neck issues due to weather, not you-know-what), but I got to enjoy spending time with hubby dearest.

I don’t have anything much planned for the next couple of days. Come back a bit later though, and you never know! Until tomorrow….
