Saturday - Hot and Sunny
I went to bed a bit early for me last night. I did wake up around 6 am and F was sitting up in bed watching YouTube on his computer. He couldn’t sleep. I went back to sleep.
I got up a bit after 9 am which is early for me on the weekend. We got dressed and F decided where he was going to take us. He decided on his stomach doctor’s office. I’ve gone there a few times, especially in the past when I had pneumonia. We did a whole lot of waiting around before getting in to see the doctor. Things went okay but I didn’t get any answers for today. I have to stay fairly close to the house for the next few days. I wouldn’t mind so much if the new James Bond movie hadn’t started this weekend!
We bought bagels for lunch for everyone and then ate at the house. I got a gouda and salami bagel but I couldn’t taste the salami. F and K had bagels with egg salad. They both liked them, but F and I both wished they were chewier. They were probably just fine for K though!
After lunch, we all went to our respective rooms for a bit of quiet time. I was on my computer playing a game for most of the time.
F started worrying about dinner first and then we decided to do bentos tonight. We ordered them from “the good place” near the yakiniku shop we like. F went off to pick them up and after he got back, we had a little feast downstairs. I had a kara-age bento with fried rice instead of plain white rice. It costs a little more, but it is so much nicer in my opinion! After dinner, I was all set to wash the bento boxes, but F told me that he would do it. I did carry most of the stuff off the table for him though. That’s more than he does for me in case anyone is keeping score (like I do!)
We just had a quiet evening in. I’m feeling fairly good. The medicine has kicked in a bit and my nose isn’t running quite as much. I took a shower a couple of hours ago and then came back to the room and watched Bull and caught up on a couple of things off the DVR.
Not sure what I’ll get up to tomorrow. I do need to get in some groceries but maybe I will send F to do that with a big list. I wonder if I can get him to do a video chat with me while he’s in the grocery store so he buys the right stuff?!
Anyway, that’s it for me. It was a boring day really. Come back later if you want and hear all about my Sunday. Until tomorrow….

Those bagels sound delicious. I would kill for a bagel right now, with cream cheese and lox. YUM.
I'm sorry you're sick! Did the doctor do a Covid test at least? (Your runny nose and not being able to taste your food is concerning as those are symptoms of a breakthrough Covid infection, as I'm sure you know. There are too many stories here about people getting Covid within weeks of getting their shots. Delta is a really scary thing and nearly out of control here in the states, so forgive my worry-wart stance.)
I hope you get to feeling better soon!
Hi there! Thanks for commenting. Yes, I did have a test today but I won't get the results for a few days. That's why I have to stay close to the house for the next couple of days. :-(
I'm actually feeling much better today since I took the medicine the doctor gave me, so I really think I just have a bad cold, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
I was going to comment on YOUR blog tonight about Frances McDormand and Joel Coen. He's directing Frances and Denzel Washington in Macbeth. It's going to be on AppleTV. I don't know if you have it, but it sounds very cool. Macbeth is my favourite Shakespeare play so I'm crossing my fingers that I like it!
Thanks for stopping by.
I hadn't heard about the new version of Hamlet. I don't have Apple TV, but I'm sure someone will post it illegally on youtube (lol) and maybe I can catch it there. I love both Frances and Denzel. (A friend who worked on a movie with Denzel Washington said he's nice and very funny.) I hope it's a good version. Remember when Mel Gibson played Hamlet? Anything would be better than that.
Hope you continue to feel better!
It's not Hamlet, it's Macbeth! The Scottish tragedy. I think it will be an interesting pairing as they are both older than most movie versions of the play are. I think I'll be watching!
And...I have to say that I actually rather liked Mel Gibson's Hamlet, but I haven't seen it in years. I used to have quite a thing for him. It's over now of course, but he was good for a while!
Ayiiii! I just reread your original comment and don't know how I missed the Macbeth and got it in my head as Hamlet! So much for reading comprehension. Lol.
Mel had his moment in the sun, didn't he? But I was always more about Russell Crowe's version of sexy Aussie. Haha
Hands off Russell, he's mine! I've been a fan of his since before he got really famous. He's actually a New Zealander by birth, although he lives in Australia these days.
No worries about the mix-up of Hamlet vs. Macbeth. I'm sure Shakespeare would forgive you!
