Thursday - Sunny and clear

I woke up early this morning, I’m not sure why. I went downstairs and then came back up to watch the news and relax. I ended up sleeping for a bit too. Oh well.

I did a load of towels today and hung them up in the room. I sent F a text and reminded him that it was his mother’s birthday today. He said he remembered.

I had breakfast and went down around my usual time for lunch. I grabbed some of the stuff from the fridge and made lunch for myself. I was able to still have some of the leftover taco stuff. Yum. K was up and around and I asked her if she wanted lunch too. She said yes, so I gave her some of the leftover pork from a couple of days ago, plus yesterday’s leftover potatoes and some of her spinach.  K took herself out for a walk around the block and when she came back, lunch was waiting for her.

I came upstairs and ate, and watched the rest of Copycat. It was great. I rather enjoyed seeing two great actresses in a fairly decent detective show.

I watched the news and then went downstairs after a bit to start dinner. I had a lot of things to do and needed time to do them all. I had to defrost some shrimp, crack some eggs, deal with some mushrooms and make some sauce for the green onion cake. Whew.  When F called tonight I suggested that he bring something back for his mother to enjoy with us over dinner.

When F did arrive I was well into my preparations. The eggs were cracked, the sauce was made, and the shrimp were almost thawed. Yay. He had brought some cream puffs from the mall for dessert. A good choice!

I got dinner underway. It was a little tricky since everything had to be done at the same time, but I mostly managed. I plated the food and then took it out to the living room. F came downstairs and did give me a hand putting things on the table.

Dinner was great except no one ate when the eggs were hot. I get so frustrated about that. Why on earth won’t they eat?

It took ages to finish the dishes tonight too, but somehow was less work than last night. F was really tired tonight so I suggested that if he promised to pick up some things tomorrow night we could skip our trip to the grocery store tonight. He happily agreed.

He stayed downstairs to watch TV and I went upstairs to check out the internet. F came up after a while.

I took a shower and then came back and watched a bit of YouTube. I blogged and stuff too.

Today was an okay day. I did work on my column and wrote about two films. I have a ways to go, but I still have some time.

Come back later if you like and hear all about my Friday. Until tomorrow…
