Monday - Cold and snowy
I woke up this morning when my alarm rang. It was nice to wake up then, and not earlier or later. I went downstairs then came back upstairs, turned on the heater and got back into bed to watch the news and wait for the room to heat up.
I had a quiet morning. After the news, I found a program about rock stars but to be honest, slept through most of it. I woke up to a Japanese singer on stage and wonder of wonders, I actually liked his voice. I didn’t know this performer and lately, I haven’t listened to much J-Pop or other music so it surprised me to hear something decent!
I went downstairs and grabbed breakfast, then came back up and ate. I watched a bit of YouTube and relaxed. I got very sleepy and was going to go and take a short nap, but went downstairs instead. While I was downstairs I cleaned the bathroom sink, I had changed the towels a little earlier. Then, I came back upstairs, grabbed my broom, and swept the stairs. Yay me.
I had a quiet afternoon. I got some mail today, a card from a friend and a postcard from a craft shop and a coaster from my Area Rep in my women’s group. Nice to get mail.
I went downstairs to get my lunch around 1:40. If K had been around I would have given her something from the fridge, but I didn’t see her for most of the day. I made my lunch and then went back upstairs to eat. I watched the early morning news and then a drama that I had on the DVR.
The news came on and I watched it. The situation in Kentucky with the tornadoes is just horrible. It reminds me a bit of the tornado that hit Edmonton when I was still in university. This was so much worse though.
F called to say he was on his way back to the house so I went downstairs and started warming up the kitchen. I did cheat a little today, I went down half an hour early to switch on the heater, but it was still only 11 degrees in there when I went in the room. Brr.
Tonight I made chicken soboro and rice, a Japanese dish, plus I roasted some potatoes and carrots in my air fryer. We had that with a salad and some pickles that F had bought us before. We also had some dessert because we had to eat it very soon!
I did the dishes, it wasn’t hard today, just took a while. I listened to my podcasts again so it was nice for me. The room was getting warmer by this time, so it wasn’t too bad either.
I really liked the carrots and potatoes that I roasted in the air fryer. They were nice and crispy and soft too. I’m not sure they pleased everyone else, but I was happy with them!
F and I had a quiet evening in. I watched a little YouTube and fell asleep at my computer! When I woke up, I went downstairs and took a shower. I came back to the bedroom and watched The Good Wife. I’ll miss that show when it finishes here. I must say that it does kind of freak me out to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the show as a love interest for Alicia. I’ve seen him in lots of things, but most recently in The Walking Dead as Neegan and he’s still giving me nightmares…almost!
That’s about it for me. F is off sleeping and I want to get to bed soon too. I have to go to work tomorrow.
Oh, but wait…there’s still time for today’s Advent Calendar, isn’t there? Just!
