Living La Vida Loca In Japan: December 9, 2021

Thursday - Warm and sunny

I woke up early again today. It was a little later than most of the days recently, but still before my alarm. I went downstairs and then came back up. I didn’t go back to bed for a change. I got changed into some of today’s clothes, got back into bed and watched the news. I fell asleep when the news was over and was very surprised when F walked back into the room!

F had a few minutes so he had come back to the house. I got dressed and went downstairs, then came back up and talked to him again. He was going to go, but sat down again and started doing something. Next thing I knew he said, “I found my wallet!” Yes, it finally showed up, in our bedroom. He had cancelled most of the cards and bank cards and arranged for replacements of many of the things in the wallet though. I’m am glad that it turned up, even though it has been such a pain in the neck!

F left and I got on with my day. I did a couple of loads of laundry and hung them up. I watched some YouTube videos, I had breakfast and later lunch. For lunch, I heated up some of the nabe leftovers for K. I gave her some tortilla chips and guacamole too.

I had a quiet afternoon. I watched more YouTube and then decided that I had to get my nephew’s present wrapped and written up. I did that, yay me. Then, I finished up some paperwork for my classes. F called just after that, so I went downstairs and got dinner started.

Tonight I made mushroom chowder. We found a package of this soup mix in the grocery store earlier this week. All I had to add was some onion, carrot, potatoes, bacon and mushrooms of course. It wasn’t very difficult at all. While it was heating up, I got started on another dish which was an avocado/tofu salad. I cubed up some of both items and mixed them with some spices and olive oil. Finally, just as the soup was about done, I cut some French bread and toasted and buttered it. I got things out on the table and we had a gorgeous meal. The tofu and avocado salad was very popular. K even had seconds and thirds without me prompting her! The soup was very nice too.

I cleaned up after dinner, cleared the table, and washed the dishes. It took a while but got done finally. I finished and went upstairs.

F and I went out to the grocery store. I asked him to make sure that he get his mother something for her breakfast. I think he did. I got some stuff for me and for dinner tomorrow night.

When we got back to the house, I decided to go out and check my bike in the garage. I haven’t used it in months, so the tires were very soft. I pumped them up, so if I do decide to go out locally tomorrow I can go by bike. I might try and catch a bus though and go downtown to mail my parcel. The local post office isn’t great at handling international mail as they don’t have a lot of experience with it.

I came in and checked how F unpacked the groceries and then went upstairs. I watched The Rookie at 11pm and when it finished I turned off the TV.

And that’s about it for me. I’m a tad tired, so I’m going to get some sleep soon. Come back later if you like and hear if I go out tomorrow or not!
