Sunday - Rainy and cloudy
I woke up quite early this morning, but went downstairs and then came back to bed. I slept for a couple more hours.
I got up a bit later and heated up my water pot. F came upstairs and I offered him a drink which he took me up on. Over our coffees, we talked about where to have lunch. I suggested a couple of places and F went with one of my ideas. We had yakiniku at Togashi for lunch.
We drove over to Togashi and were lucky enough to get in and get a table right away. We both had the kalbi lunch and added on a plate of gyutan too. Lunch was nice and we were quite full afterwards.
We decided to go and check out the hardware store next. Usually, we buy K some of her favourite pop around this time of year. F picked up a case for her. We used a cart first. We also got a box of masks too. F was using the cart to help himself get around so he took it out to the car. However, someone had to take the cart back to the store….guess who?!
After our trip to the hardware store, we drove around a little. F took us to the electric shop and looked at computers. Of course, they didn’t have any Macs. I got some new ink for my printer too as I was getting low.
It was close to 4 pm so we decided to do our grocery shopping. F drove us off to our usual place. However, I requested that we go to McDonald's first for a drink. They are in the same area. F was fine with that, so we went in and I got us a couple of drinks. I had a pretty decent cafe latte, F had a diet coke.
After a while, we went to the grocery store. F picked up things for his nabe tonight, I picked up some stuff for dinner tomorrow. I got some new potatoes and some chicken wings. I wonder what I’ll make!
We came back to the house and F got busy making his nabe. I think he did pretty well, but there wasn’t a great variety of veggies in the nabe. I relaxed upstairs for a while and then F said I should come down as dinner was nearly ready.
Of course, F hadn’t done things like getting out the drinking glasses or chopsticks for everyone. He hadn’t done a few things, so I helped him out. I felt a bit resentful about it as he never helps me! The nabe was good, but, we did it shabu-shabu style at the table. I didn’t have a chair so I couldn’t see well into the nabe when I wanted to grab food! K also had that problem which she solved by grabbing the food that was right in front of me. How lovely of her!
When we ate enough of the nabe, F added some udon and we all had more food. It was okay. I don’t like noodles all that much, especially the way F does them.
As we finished eating I told F that if he washed the dishes, I’d dry them for him. He agreed, but I had to keep biting my tongue because his way of washing dishes makes me wince. Still, we got through them. Of course, he buggered off in the end and didn’t even say he was finished.
I did up the garbage tonight and put it in the genkan for F to take out later. I told him that I was going upstairs to join an online meeting and I’d do up my part of the garbage first. I went upstairs, got my garbage bag ready and left it for him to put his garbage in. Then I started to get the room ready. I had my table set up, moved my computer over, got my extension cord set up and my computer plugged in. F came into the room and proceeded to move through all the papers and plastic on his side of the room and didn’t look like he was going to relax and be quiet anytime soon. I ended up taking it all apart again. I did not join the meeting. I closed the doors as much as I could to my half of the room and just ignored F as much as I could.
Over the evening he kept trying to talk to me about whatever. He’s been planning to get himself a new MacBook and I’ve been suggesting things to him, but he always complains about how expensive things are. Well, then don’t ask me.
He ended up ordering himself a new computer tonight. I think he’s nuts, but whatever. I wanted him to actually talk to a person when he ordered it, but he chose not to do it. It’s fine. I hope he knows how to set his new computer up. This present one sat in its box for two or three years before he got it out and used it. And why did he get it out? Because I made him do it!
I watched CSI: Vegas and then I took a shower. I came back upstairs and tried to relax. I’m not good at that. I did do a bit of crochet tonight, but that was during CSI. I’m making another dishcloth. I really like this one, it is in shades of green with cream.
That’s about it for me. Tomorrow I’m cooking dinner as F has to go to work. I’m not sure what else is going on. I still have a few things to watch off the DVR so hopefully, I’ll stay out of K’s way. I hope she stays out of mine too!!
