Saturday - Sunny and warm
What a day! It was rather a frustrating one if I’m honest, and I do try to be!
I got up this morning when my alarm went off. I went downstairs and then relaxed for a bit in front of my computer. I got dressed and we left the house a little late for my doctor’s appointment for the vaccine. We got to the office a little early but had to wait almost an hour before I got seen by the doctor. For some reason, the doctor needed to see me to sign off on the booster shot. I’m glad that I brought my book with me as I got quite a bit read today.
I got the shot and the nurse that did it was very competent and it didn’t hurt at all. It was like a pinprick and that was it. I’ve had worse shots before.
After we finished at the doctor’s office, I suggested to F that we get K a bento since he hadn’t made her breakfast today. It wouldn’t be fair if we ate before her, although I hadn’t eaten at all today. F also had a package he needed to pick up at the post office.
We got K a bento and picked up a couple of things for the kitchen and me too! We drove back to the house and F gave his mother the bento. I put my book back upstairs and went downstairs to meet up with F. He asked me to phone him. Oh no. That meant that he’d misplaced his phone again. He thought it was in his car, but didn’t find it. He went upstairs, tore up his side of the bed and didn’t find it. I phoned him again and I got into the action of looking too. F was in a panic. I think he searched for 30 or 40 minutes and nothing. I looked too of course. I decided that I’d try looking in the car again. While I was there, I used my phone to call his and I heard it ring in the car. I found his phone under some stuff beside his seat. Argh! I went back into the house and yelled to him that I found his phone. He was really glad to see it again. I had called him 9 times to try and find the stupid thing!
We left the house and went to the post office first to pick up his parcel. His best friend had sent us some sweet potatoes. He needed his ID which he kept in his phone case. He got a heavy box at the post office and took it out to the car.
We went for lunch finally after all this. It was nearly 2 pm, and all of the good places were closing. We tried an old favourite but it was busy. F just went driving and went past all the places I had suggested. He took us to an older place out of town that he thinks he likes, but really doesn’t. We both had the same thing, the yakiniku set meal. It was…okay. I didn’t like it that much if I’m honest. the meat wasn’t good quality.
F paid and we left. I suggested since we were going to be in the area going to a hardware store to pick up some masks. He was good with that. We got to the store, I got out of the car and so did F. He got a strange look on his face and said that he couldn’t find his wallet. Oh dear God! He searched the car and couldn’t find it. He wanted to leave immediately to go back to the restaurant. I said that I’d like to go into the store and get the masks since we were already there. I’d pay for them.
I did that. I found the masks quickly and then went through the checkout. We were on our way back to the restaurant a little too quickly if I’m honest. At one part I told him that I’d rather not lose my life today. We got back to the restaurant and there on the ground outside was F’s wallet. He must have dropped it when he was putting it in his pocket. Everything was there and he was glad to have it. I was glad that he had it too of course.
We went back into Tsuruoka proper and had a Frappuccino at Starbucks. Mine was a strawberry and velvet brownie creation and it was very nice. I don’t know if I’d have it again, but this once was good.
We left and grabbed another bento for K’s dinner and then came back to the house. We delivered the bento. I came upstairs and used my computer for a while. I got so tired that during some videos I just fell asleep at my computer! I caught myself about to fall off my chair a couple of times.
I decided to close my computer so I did that and got into bed. I set my alarm for 20 minutes and then I tried to sleep. I didn’t manage to sleep, but it’s okay.
I got up after the time was up. I had forgotten to hit start on my timer, but F told me how much time I had left! I got dressed again and then we set out for dinner.
I suggested one of the keiten sushi restaurants. F wasn’t too happy, but he couldn’t think of a better place to go either. We went there and had some okay sushi. I had dessert too, they had an Ethiopian coffee jelly with ice cream that was pretty darn good.
We came back to the house and relaxed. I watched a bit of TV and then some YouTube. F watched his TikTok and then fell asleep.
It’s late and I’m still up. It could be due to the coffee jelly or it could be due to my frustration at the day.
I’ll probably be back tomorrow night. My arm hurts a little, but it isn’t too bad. I hope it doesn’t get worse.
