Thursday - Rainy and cool. I didn’t go out
I woke F up when I went to bed last night. I didn’t mean to, but I don’t think he was sleeping that well. This morning when he left, he didn’t wake me up at all.
I got up after my alarm and went to the washroom. I came back up, turned on the news and got back into bed. I was out of kerosene so it was a warm thing to do! I did watch the rest of the news but ended up snoozing quite late today.
I did a couple of loads of laundry this morning, including a load of towels. Those are hung up all over our room! Still, they need to be done.
I had a quiet afternoon. I didn’t see K at all. I heard her a few times and when I was in the kitchen I saw her empty plates in the drainer so I knew that she had eaten. That’s good.
F texted me to say that he’d have to work all day today and then all night tonight and then all daytime Friday. I told him that was insane and that if he liked I’d talk to his boss. He didn’t want me to do that (I’d seem a very strange wife to his boss I’m sure.) Happily, it has been changed somewhat. F had to work all day Thursday, then go in to work on Friday morning, just past midnight. However, he doesn’t have to go in on Friday daytime. He has to work Saturday and Sunday though and also Monday. He doesn’t get a weekend this week. I’m worried about how long this will go on. This happened a couple of years ago too and ruined our Christmas dinner.
A little later on, F called to say he was returning and I went down to work on dinner. I made quite a nice one today. We had bibinba rice, salad, a baked kabocha and cheese thing and fried chicken. It wasn’t Japanese kara-age, just a type of pre-seasoned chicken for frying from the grocery store. It got good reviews, so yay.
After dinner, I cleared the table and washed F’s thermos. That took ages as the daft twit had left some sports drink in it since summer and also the rubber bits had gone a bit mouldy. Bleck. I made him a pot of coffee and put it in the flask when I was done. I did a pretty thorough cleaning, hopefully, it’ll be enough. I did the dishes and didn’t finish until after 9 pm. I was trying to give F time to snooze upstairs.
When I got upstairs, F wasn’t sleeping. The room was dark but he was watching stuff on his computer. Sigh. I put on the dim lights over by my computer, closed the door as much as I could to give him more shade and spent time on YouTube.
I think he did manage to sleep a bit, but got up at 11 pm and got ready for work. I went downstairs with him to see him off but K was up using the washroom. She was surprised to see us both. I don’t know if F told her that he had to work or not. We’re not sure how much she understands these days. When you are as deaf as she is, you might tend to agree with anything said as you can’t hear it anyway.
F left and I locked the door and turned off the outside light after he left. I went to the washroom and I heard K get up again and check the door. Argh. I’m not sure if it is an old habit or not trusting me. I’ll go with old habit to be nice.
After a long while where I waited so that she’d probably be in bed, I went downstairs and took a shower. I’d skipped it last night as we had done so much running around later at night.
I came upstairs and watched a little TV. After a while, I asked Alexa to play some ambient music for me so I could work on this blog and relax a bit.
And that’s where you find me now. I’m almost finished writing this entry. I have to post it and then get to bed. I’m an hour later than my usual late night so I’m quite tired. It does make me worried about F, who is usually in bed long before this. I hope he’ll be okay to drive back in the morning. I told him if he needed to nap in the car for a bit before he came back to do it.
Come back later if you like and hear all about my Friday. Until tomorrow….

Fingers crossed your husband is ok and gets through this busy time of work.
He made it back safely, so that was good. He did say that he really had to work hard in setting up the area where the workers are. I felt really bad for him.
