Saturday - Rainy and cloudy but warm

Well, surprisingly for me, after last night’s worry, today was a good day. 

When I went to bed last night, I set my morning alarm for 9:30 or so. I didn’t get up for a little, but by 10:00 I was quite close to ready to go out. F was still in bed so I asked him if he still wanted to go to Sakata and he said yes. He got dressed and we left a few minutes later. 

We were able to get into the restaurant just after waiting about five minutes. We both had the same thing, a sushi assortment. It had about 16 pieces of sushi with a bit of cooked mackerel and a bowl of miso soup. It was fine. I didn’t think it was that great, but it was fine. F was happy and really, that was all that was important!

We bought a piece of cooked salmon for K and then left the port area. We made a pit stop at the Aeon Mall in Sakata and then came back to Tsuruoka. We went to Starbucks and we both had their new Melon in Melon Frappuccino today. It was okay, a bit sweet, but reasonably nice.

After we finished, we went back to the house. F took a nap and then after a while, I did too. I set my alarm for just before 4 pm. F got up, I snoozed a little longer. He went to get some food for his mother, and then I got up and waited for F to be ready.

We drove over to Machi-kinema and went to see Mass. Yes! The cinema in Tsuruoka opened again last month and this was the first movie in English that I wanted to see. Mass was basically a 4 character “play” about two couples meeting in a church basement. One couple’s son killed the other couple’s son in a school incident. The performances were excellent and the subject matter was incredibly topical. After the movie, F and I spent a couple of minutes in the lobby writing comments about the movie on Post-It notes. We were the first today as the movie started today. I was surprised that F liked the film as much as he did. He really got into it.

We went for dinner tonight and did a run to Coco Ichibanya. F had the fish fry and I had the spice curry again. I’m not sure why if I’m honest as I didn’t like it the first time. I didn’t love it this time either. I did order it with less rice as I thought 300 grammes of rice was too much!

We came back to the house via a convenience store for F. He needed beer! At the house we relaxed for a while. I watched FBI at 11 pm and then turned off the TV. F made himself a massage appointment for tomorrow afternoon. I’m not sure what we’re going to do besides that tomorrow. Well, hopefully do some grocery shopping!

So that was it for my day. It turned out okay after all. We’ve had a rough time of the last few weekends, I really hope that this one finishes the way it has been going so far.
