 Thursday - Cold, snowy & windy

Happy Robbie Burns Day!

I went to bed a bit late last night but fell asleep soon after I did my 5 minutes of reading. 

This morning, I woke up around 8am.  The demolition going on around the corner was starting and I woke up. I went downstairs and came back upstairs. I turned on my heater but turned the temperature quite low on it. I just wanted the room to be warmer, but not warm. It worked rather well.

I got up later, got dressed and went downstairs and grabbed breakfast. I noticed at the time that I’d had a delivery that I’d missed. It is so noisy in the house during the day that I couldn’t hear the doorbell. I came back upstairs and called the post office and asked them to redeliver it in the evening.

I went downstairs around 1:30. I bumped into K who had her kerosene tank in her hands. I offered to fill it up for her. I don’t mind doing it when I’m not in the middle of something. After that, I put it back in the heater for her. Then, I put on my boots and went outside. There wasn’t a ton of snow, but I cleared what there was around the steps and a bit in the parking area. I was surprised that it wasn’t deeper if I’m honest. 

I came back into the house and a few minutes later came down and made my lunch. It was just my usual stuff, nothing too exciting. I did add in the last of the buta kimchi from a couple of nights ago.  While I ate, I watched an episode of Fringe. It was nice to see it again. 

I watched the 4 pm news and then a bit of YouTube. F called a bit after 5 pm and I went downstairs to get a start on dinner. Tonight I cooked some new potatoes and did some toaster oven chicken. With that, we had some store-bought pasta salad and some salad. It was quite popular. I was a bit surprised. All the potatoes vanished!  I just boiled them and then put a bit of EVOO on them, with salt and pepper. Yum. 

My package from earlier was redelivered while we were eating. Not a problem, except K had turned off the outside light again!  I have such a problem with her doing what she thinks is right. She never asks if there is a reason why the light is on!

After dinner, I did the dishes and then went upstairs. I relaxed for a while. F came upstairs and basically went straight to bed. He was very tired when he came back from work today. 

I watched Sewing Bee and a bit later The Rookie. After that, the TV went off. 

Today was a pretty good day all told. I’ve been needing some good days!

I’m not sure what I’ll get up to tomorrow. I have to cook dinner again and probably get ready for the weekend. There may be snow-shovelling too, sad to say.
