Thursday - Cloudy and cool
I did get to bed early last night, but I woke up at 5 am and had to make a trip downstairs. Along the way I woke up F and when I came back to the room, he went downstairs. I went back to bed and tried to sleep, but F was tossing and turning and then he got his computer out so it took a while before I fell back asleep.
I woke up next when my alarm went off. I did a washroom run again and then yes, I went back to bed. I watched videos and then napped for a bit before getting up.
I made my breakfast and brought it upstairs to eat. I had a fairly quiet afternoon. I watched the news and some YouTube, I did work a tiny bit on my column, so that was good. In the later part of the afternoon, I went downstairs and made my lunch.
I had my usual open sandwiches for lunch and today I added on the leftover stew which K didn’t eat. I left her a bowl of it, but she didn’t touch it. In fact, that’s a bit of a worry. She isn’t eating anything for lunch at the moment. I’m not sure why. I do think she’s spending a lot of time in bed again.
F called after 5:30 to say he was on his way back. I reminded him that since he was off work tomorrow, he might want to make his mother’s breakfast for her. He decided to stop at a store to get something to make.
I went downstairs to get a start on dinner. I was quite busy tonight. After I did my daily dishes, I got stuck in on the remainder of the long kabocha/winter squash that we were given. I treated it like a kabocha, sliced it into cubes and then microwaved it to cook it. While I was doing that, I put some sweet potato fries in the air fryer. When the kabocha was cooked, I put it in a pan and added cheese and panko to the top. I had to save it for later because I can’t use too many kitchen appliances at one time!
The burgers we had tonight were from the store and I took them out to the living room before I was able to put the kabocha in the toaster oven. I also made garlic toast to have with our dinner. Most of the food disappeared and seems to have been quite popular. The garlic toast was really good!
I did the dishes and it took a while, but wasn’t too bad really. I just got really tired afterwards. I was going to go upstairs but I noticed that F was out in the car. I went out and asked him if he was waiting for me. He was. We had talked about going out tonight since I wanted to go to the drugstore. I apologized to him and said that if he was okay I’d rather go tomorrow. I was just weary and really didn’t want to go out. He was okay with that.
I did have some sort of good news though. I thought I had to go to the memorial for F’s Uncle on Saturday but F was told tonight that it is only for a few people so I don’t have to go. His sister isn’t even going so I don’t feel left out really. F and his mother have to go though.
I had a quiet evening in, which is just what I needed! I watched Yellowjackets again and it was quite weird again. It was good though.
And…that’s about it. F has the day off tomorrow and may go to the doctor. I’m sort of hoping that we get to celebrate his birthday a day early so I did ask him earlier in the week if we could have a nice lunch today. We haven’t talked about it since though.
