Wednesday - Rainy, cold, with wind and hail
I woke up before 7am again this morning. I went downstairs and then came back to the bedroom. As I was moving around the room, F’s alarm went off. F was long gone. I ribbed him about that tonight! At least it didn’t wake me up.
I went back to bed, watched videos for a bit and then went back to sleep. I overslept a bit but finally dragged myself out of bed. I dressed and went downstairs to grab my breakfast. I brought it upstairs and ate. I watched some news and then started to get ready to go out.
I left the house around 1:10. It was too early, but I have this thing where I have to be early to the bus stop. I waited in the cold for about 10 minutes, maybe more! Finally, the bus arrived and I got on. One other person was on the bus and then another person got on. The bus announced the next stop and then the driver usually repeated it. Well, they announced the City Hall stop, but the driver didn’t turn to go to the City Hall stop! He went straight and kept going. At first, I thought that maybe there was an event blocking City Hall, but then we just kept going. I had no idea what to say, so didn’t say anything, and neither did the other two ladies on the bus! All of a sudden the driver seemed to understand he was in the wrong, apologized and made a U-Turn. He went back to the corner and turned and then continued on as normal. I’ve never had that happen before! When I got off at my stop at the main post office, he apologized again! I said it was okay. I wasn’t in a hurry today, other days, when I’m trying to catch a bus or a movie it would have been a bit scary.
I went into the post office and mailed off my in-Japan cards, well, most of them. I got my exchange cards sent. Whew! I also made a small deposit in the banking section. Woot. Another 50 1yen coins gone in. Yay me!
I checked my phone for the next bus, but there wasn’t one for 40 minutes. It would take about 15 minutes to walk to the mall, so that’s what I did! I walked to the grocery store first and got a few things for tomorrow night. Nice person that I am, I picked up a few things for K’s breakfast and lunch on Friday.
I got into the mall and decided that I’d go to the Pizza Hut Express. I had their HutMelts today, the Bacon Melt. I asked them to keep the tomato dipping sauce today, which they did. It was nice. I got a couple of pieces of folded pizza-looking stuff with some fries. Nom! After lunch, I did a little retail therapy and then high-tailed it back to the bus depot. I took a bus back to the house. I went the long route and it was quite interesting. Tsuruoka really is a rural area. We turned a corner and the bus was driving down a road right next to a rice field.
I got off at my stop and walked back to the house. I had a few minutes to relax before F would call, so I changed and had a cup of decaf coffee.
I went downstairs a bit later and made dinner. I had planned an easy one tonight because I knew I’d be a bit tired from going out. We had burgers from the store, fries, potato salad, salad, kimchi and radishes. Dinner was nice and most of the stuff was eaten. I made K a plate and put it in the fridge for her.
I washed the dishes and then I did up the garbage in the kitchen. I talked to F for a few minutes and then went upstairs and relaxed.
Around 10:30 I went downstairs and took my shower. I was a bit late coming back, so I skipped Grey’s Anatomy for tonight. I’ll catch it tomorrow night. Instead, I spent a bit of time with F. He’s not going to be here as he’s got his Bonnenkai party tomorrow night. It’s an overnight party at an onsen.
He is talking about taking Friday off to do some banking if he can. That might be fun if he has some free time afterwards. He also found out tonight that there might be some water leaking around the house, so he’ll probably have to have a plumber come and check things out. Sigh.
Anyway, that’s about it for me. I’ve had a busy day, but tomorrow could be even more busy! I hope to set up my tree and maybe do some laundry. Wish me luck with that.
Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
