Wednesday - Warmer and cloudy

As I mentioned yesterday, F and I opened presents last night. It was really nice and we gave each other some interesting things. 

I woke up at 6:30 this morning. I thought F had left, but he was just downstairs. I went downstairs after him and then went back to bed. He said that he was going to wake up to go to work, but I didn’t see any alarms on, so I turned my alarm on for him. We had a bit of a snuggle and then when my alarm went off, he got up and got ready for work. I fell back asleep until my alarm. I stayed in bed a little late, but no big deal.

I went downstairs and checked the snow outside. It was okay, not great. Then, I went back to bed. I watched a couple of videos and then went back to snooze for a few minutes. I got up later, dressed, and went outside and shovelled snow. The snowplough had gone by, so it had blocked the entrance to F’s parking spot. The snow hadn’t had the chance to freeze yet, so it was quite soft and easy to move. 

I came back into the house and made my breakfast and then took it upstairs. I watched the news and then a bit of a movie, but I didn’t watch the whole thing. Around 2:45 I went downstairs and made my lunch and set the heater for the kitchen. 

I ate upstairs and watched an episode of Major Crimes. As always, it was enjoyable and I guessed who dunnit. I do think I saw it before too!

I went downstairs around 5:30 or so to get started on dinner. Tonight I wasn’t really cooking. Tonight was my nibbly buffet. Basically, I put out some cold meats, some cheeses, some crackers and we had individual cheese fondues and drank some sparkling grape juice. That was lovely. We did have some salad and potato salad as well. K and F enjoyed themselves and that made me happy. When we stuffed ourselves enough, I cleared the table and then served dessert. I was lucky enough to find a Christmas pudding this year, so we had that. I served it with some vanilla ice cream and it disappeared. I have a little bit left. Yay!

I hadn’t used many dishes as this was the one day I used paper plates. I really don’t want to spend my evening on Christmas doing dishes. I did have to wash some dishes though, so I did that and listened to a couple of podcasts. 

F was watching TV when I finished, so I said hello to him. He seemed happy to stay downstairs, so I went upstairs and started to heat up the room. I wore my new robe from my sister and it kept me toasty until the room heated up. 

At 11:00 I watched Grey’s Anatomy and it was interesting. I can’t help wondering why they keep changing the characters up. Oh well. F didn’t come upstairs until 11:30. He was complaining about being too full because he ate too much bread, but he had noodles in the kitchen so…..

And that’s about it for my day. It was a pretty good, low-key and quiet Christmas. That’s it for me for today.
