Friday - Hot and sunny
I woke up this morning around 7:30 in the morning. F had already left for work. I got up and went downstairs. When I came back to the room I was a bit horrified to notice that the temperature in the room was already 28 degrees. This is at 7:30 in the morning. I checked the outside temperature and it was the same, but the humidity was quite high. I didn’t open the window. I started up my fan and went back for some videos and snoozing.
I got myself up at an almost reasonable time today and dressed. I took a load of laundry downstairs and put it in the washing machine. I made my breakfast and took it back upstairs with me. I turned on the AC in the room. It was now up to 30 degrees and it was a bit too hot for me.
Today I did two loads of laundry. I finally got my shirts done. I’ve been meaning to do them for a while. While I was downstairs I saw K and I suggested that she turn on the air conditioner in the living room but she refused. She thinks it is too expensive for just her to run by herself. I have a higher opinion of myself so I run it. I also showed her the pineapple juice that I bought her yesterday but I don’t think she understood that it was okay for her to have some.
I had a fairly quiet afternoon. I went downs to grab my last load of laundry and my lunch too. I brought it upstairs and ate while I watched an episode of The Good Fight. It was quite a humdinger of an episode. I really enjoy that show. Today Diane Lockhart and Liz Reddick were singing Prince’s Raspberry Beret and it was really cool. It’s one of my go-to karaoke songs so I was happy. Michael Sheen is in these episodes too and he’s playing this way over the top lawyer who isn’t too worried about breaking rules.
F called before 5 pm today to say that he was not at his work base and would be late tonight. He had to drive someone to another place before he could leave today so he thought he’d be rather late. And he was.
I went downstairs around 6 pm and washed my day’s dishes. I filled up the basin with nice hot soapy water, but when it came time to rinse the dishes….the hot water was gone. Sigh. I’ve been asking F to check the kerosene in the hot water tank for the last couple of weeks. It finally became empty. It’s not supposed to be empty! His family has told him several times to keep it full or close to it.
F finally called around 7pm to say he was on the way back. He asked about dinner and I reminded him that I hadn’t bought anything for dinner as we were supposed to go and look for fireflies tonight. He was tired (understandably) and didn’t want to go out tonight. He suggested bentos all round but I’m afraid I said I’d rather go out! So, he got K a nice bento and we went out.
When he came back to the house he heated up the bento for K, turned on the air conditioner for her too and then we got changed and went out.
I had suggested Gusto and F was okay with that. We drove to the one by MaxValu and went in. F tried their new “Fitmenu” and it seemed a decent deal. He went with the three items menu and it also included drink bar and the soup as well. I had the lemon and avocado and ham pasta. It’s really nice and I enjoyed it a lot.
We came back to the house after dinner. I got F to put some kerosene in the water heater tank and then I took a shower. I really needed one after all the hot days. When I came back to the room I watched tonight’s episode of Rebus. It was the last episode and it was good, but it didn’t tie up all the loose ends. I hope there will be more in the future.
And that’s about it for me. I’m not sure what we’ll get up to tomorrow. We do have a meeting with K’s Care Worker tomorrow and we have talked about going to a movie later on tomorrow. Nothing’s been completely decided yet though.
