Friday - Hot and muggy, but cooler in the morning
Well, I went to bed a bit early last night and F didn’t wake up when I went to bed. Yay. However, I woke up at 4:44 and had to make a trip downstairs. It’s pretty rare for me to wake up like that so I wonder if I heard something outside that woke me. I went back to sleep and then woke up when F got up. I pretended to sleep! He turned on the light and made a lot of noise but finally left. I went back to sleep too.
I woke up with my alarm, got up and went downstairs. I decided that I’d get dressed so I did that. I tried to nap a bit more, but ended up getting up a bit earlier than usual. I took my laundry downstairs, turfed my husband’s clothes out of the washing machine and then washed my clothes. When I went downstairs to get them to take upstairs, I put F’s clothes back in the washing machine!
I ate my breakfast and then worked on my column. I think I got it finished too. I have to do some more work on it, probably on Monday before I send it in.
Surprisingly, I hardly watched any YouTube today until after midnight. I just didn’t do it.
I didn’t think that F would call me tonight when he finished work tonight, but he did. I asked him if he wanted me to cook dinner and I pointed out that I didn’t have fresh ingredients. He asked me what I wanted and I asked for a salad.
I went downstairs and got started on dinner. I did my usual Friday pasta and prepared some cucumber pickle from F’s sister, and cut up the duck that I had in the fridge. When F came to the house, I boiled the pasta and mixed it with the sauce. Tonight it was a mushroom and some green vegetable. I set the table and called F downstairs.
Dinner was good. K wouldn’t start eating until F came downstairs, I had no such scruples! The pasta was good, the salad F brought was good and the duck was great. So yay.
After dinner, F popped into the kitchen and peeled more nashi. However, he used MY cutting board this time so I had a piece of it.
I did the dishes and listened to my podcasts. When I finished, I went upstairs and had a nap for about an hour. I really didn’t feel very good and the nap just fixed me up. I got up and went over to my computer for a few minutes then went downstairs and took a shower. I came back upstairs and watched an episode of Moonflower Murders with Lesley Manville. It was great. F came upstairs during it and said he’d been watching Mononoke-Hime downstairs. I reminded him that we have the dvd somewhere!
F went to sleep and I watched some YouTube and did my nightly internet stuff. Around 1:30 I noticed that the ground was shaking. Sure enough, we were having an earthquake. It was across the country so we really didn’t feel much, but it was a level 2 here on the Japanese scale. I think it was a 5 on the other coast. F didn’t wake up!
