Monday - Cool, windy, but sunny
I woke up when my alarm went off this morning. I went downstairs and thought that F was in the washroom! He doesn’t wear slippers so there was no sign outside the door that he was in the toilet except for the fan being on. I decided to give him a minute and then knocked on the door and “helloed?!”him a couple of times. Not in there. He was in the shower!
I went back upstairs and went back to bed for a bit. I decided that if I got up at 9:30 I’d have enough time to get ready to go out. I snoozed for a bit, at 9:30 I decided I needed another 15 minutes so I snoozed longer. Well, 25 minutes later I got up. Yikes. I had to leave in 25-30 minutes. I got dressed and then found my backpack, went downstairs and left the house. I locked the door and walked to the bus stop.
F was off at his doctor’s office so he couldn’t give me a ride to the cinema. No worries. I got to the area quickly and then went to the post office first. I bought some stamps and cashed in my “winning” nengajo. I got a set of stamps, I only matched two numbers.
I walked down to the nearby drugstore and bought a few things for myself there. I didn’t get anything too exciting. I got a drink for the cinema. I walked back to the cinema and bought my ticket. It was quite busy considering how crowded the cinema was. I couldn’t get an aisle seat, so I ended up sitting in the middle of a row, but not next to anyone. I saw a woman I knew slightly, another foreigner and it ended up that I was sitting in the same row as her. We smiled and nodded. The movie? Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale. It was lovely! I enjoyed it a lot. Of course I was verklempt at the end and I may have had to wipe my eyes a few times!
After the movie I left the cinema and went to the door of the building. I texted F to say I was finished and he could pick me up if he wanted. I also ate the sandwich that I had bought to eat before the movie. I couldn’t eat it in the cinema because it was so crowded and I didn’t want to annoy people.
F picked me up a few minutes later. As I hadn’t eaten too much at all that day, I suggested going to an Indian restaurant, so off we went. We were the only customers as it was a bit late. I had the keema curry in a spinach sauce meal, F had some chicken wings as he wasn’t too hungry. We left a bit late, after I’d finished eating. F was really hard to get moving. I kept trying to move him, as they were technically closed, but he didn’t want to leave. I was annoyed!
We went to Gyomu Supa next and bought a few things. They didn’t have any baby cheese, their potato salad wasn’t going to last long enough for us, but we got a lot of other things so that was nice.
We brought our food back to the house and put it away. Some of it needed to go in the freezer. F stayed downstairs, I went upstairs and relaxed. I watched the news sort of. Around 6 F wanted to go to the grocery store. He was making dinner tonight, so needed ingredients. I needed food for tomorrow and Wednesday.
We bought our groceries and I hope got enough stuff for all of us. I’m going to do tacos tomorrow night. They won’t be authentic but so what. We’ll enjoy them anyway.
F prepared dinner. Tonight he made a nabe and it was fine. It wasn’t my favourite soup, but thankfully it wasn’t the usual boring soup he uses as a base. He also cleaned up afterwards so it was nice I didn’t have to do anything. Yay for me!
I went upstairs to relax and watch YouTube. I came downstairs around 10:20 to take a shower. F went upstairs around the same time. When I came back upstairs I decided to watch something on the TV and put on an episode of Elsbeth. It was quite good, Ioan Gruffudd was on it. He saw a murder in New York from Scotland using a video portal in his town. It was cool, if a bit unbelievable.
And that’s about it. Tomorrow I’ll have to try and do some laundry again. I’ll check out the cinema listings tomorrow and decide if I’ll go to the cinema again this week or next week. I’d like to see Wicked: For Good again. I also need to get my bestie another birthday present so I’d really like to go and do some shopping! A trip to the mall may be just what I need!
