Sunday

Gorgeous, sunny day. No snow in Sendai at all.

A busy day. I got up at 7:30, showered, dressed and then went downstairs for breakfast. I had an okay breakfast, came back to the room for a few minutes and then headed out. I was early for my train. At Kitasendai station, I walked for a few blocks to the Forest Building.

Today I attended a one day course on teaching children in Japan. It was presented by David Paul, a writer of children's textbooks in Japan. I think it will be very useful. I felt a little bad though, because I was so tired and I had the darnedest time keeping myself awake. It was a really good presentation.

I met a few other teachers as well and even invited myself along with them for lunch. That was really nice. I was happy to meet new people. One of them had even lived in Tsuruoka before I got there! It was an interesting coincidence.

After the course, I took the subway back to Hirose-dori and went shopping. I really didn't buy too much. I got a couple of lower priced magazines at HMV and that was about it. I had dinner at Capriccosas tonight. I had carbonara of course. I had asked if I could have a half sized salad but they said I couldn't have it, so I didn't order anything else. Too bad. If they had let me I'd probably have ordered the salad and a drink, if not dessert too. Anyhoo, I left and came back to the hotel via the station.

When I got home I relaxed for a while and called my husband. It was lovely to talk to him again, and we chatted for 15 minutes or so.

I vegged tonight after talking to Fumihiko. I watched a bit of CNN, drank some oolong tea and then watched an episode of Heroes. It ended on a real cliffhanger so I am debating whether to watch another one or just go to bed! I think I might go to bed. I'm really tired tonight. I've walked a lot over the city.

So, I'll be leaving Sendai tomorrow. I enjoyed my time in the big city, but honestly I'm ready to go home. After my birthday trip last month I got the need for shopping out of my system, so I'd really like to relax.

And that was my day. I really enjoyed myself. I got some physical and some mental exercise, so now I'm tired. Got to go before I fall all the way asleep! Night night.
