A little snowy, getting colder at night.
Today was a pretty good day. I woke up with Fumihiko at 6 am. Then I went back to sleep for a few more hours. I got myself up to watch the news, then read a paper for a while. I showered, the usual.
In the afternoon, I got a head start on dinner. We had decided that we'd cook tonight, so I sliced an onion, a carrot and the asparagus that I bought yesterday. I also cut the meat I was going to use into smaller pieces. I put everything back in the fridge when I was done.
I headed off to my school at 3 today. I was supposed to have an earlier class, but the student had cancelled last night. I rode my bicycle. It was a little hairy in places, but not too bad. I did a bit of walking too, as there were places that had too much snow for me to ride through them. At one place, I stopped because a man was using a small dozer to move snow. He actually said thank you to me for stopping. I was really surprised. Usually no one ever talks to me!
At my school, I parked my bike and then headed into the school for my scoop. I attacked my space and also the entrance-way to the parking lot. The building owners do NOTHING when it snows, we're on our own. And, because the other tenants don't seem to care, that means I'm on my own. I did quite a bit, and then went into the school to prepare for my first class.
Despite me being really tired, the class went well. We did a lot of phonics today and I think the student got most of it. He seems to be able to read quite well. I was impressed. After class, I talked to his mum about him continuing and it looks like it'll be fine. Yay.
I went back out to the parking lot after class, this time with my "dump". The big snow mover. I did a lot of moving snow and basically worked my butt off. I cleaned a lot of snow out of the common area of the parking lot, so that my student would at least be able to get to my space! After about 40 minutes, I had had enough. I went in again.
My last class of the day was fine too. The student didn't have time to do her homework, so we did it in class. I wanted her to write paragraphs, but it was clear to me that she didn't really understand what I wanted, so I asked her to dictate to me and I'd write on the board for her. It worked quite well as I was able to coach her, and she was a little surprised that she had "written" so much.
After class, I did my paperwork, cleaned up, and finally called Fumihiko just before I did the dishes. I asked him to pick up my bike for me. He came and I met him in the parking lot. He was really surprised at how much snow I had moved today. He'd gotten stuck in the lot last night, but didn't today. He loaded my bike and we went home.
At home we both got busy on dinner. We had chap chae (from a mix, with veggies & meat) and my stirfry. I made coffee and set the table while Fumihiko did his cooking. He did the chap chae, and it was really good. My stirfry was too. We both enjoyed dinner. I was surprised because I didn't get mad at him. Usually one of us loses our temper at the other one because our kitchen is so small, but tonight it went well. He finished first, and then did his dishes while I was still cooking. Yay.
Dinner was really nice. We had leftovers of everything, which makes me a bit happy as that can be my lunch. Fumihiko did the rest of the dishes, while I put the leftovers away.
We had a quiet evening at home. I joined Fumihiko on the couch for Ugly Betty, which I think surprised him. It was a good episode tonight, many things happened. It was all about babies and love. Fumihiko fell asleep towards the end, but I think he just watches it to humor me anyway.
That was my day. I am so achy now I may just stay home tomorrow. But, if I venture out, I'll let you know all about it tomorrow night. Talk to you then! Night.
