January 26, 2009 - Monday

Sunny, rainy, snowy.

What a day. I first woke up at 6 when Fumihiko woke up to check the snow situation outside. I went back to sleep when he said we didn't have to shovel. Then, I woke up again quite suddenly at 7 am, to an empty house. I got up, checked email and then went back to sleep. I'm weird that way!

I got up again a bit later and stayed up. I didn't do too much really, and around 2 I went outside and cleared our parking space as a little present for my husband. After I finished, I came back in, watched the very tail end of The Unit, then went out.

I went to McDonald first and had lunch. It was okay. None too healthy which is why I don't go there every day!

I hit the road again and walked to my school. I dropped into a drugstore for my anti-cold supplement on the way.

At my school I dumped my backpack and went out to shovel snow. The parking lot was a huge mess. I did a little bit of everything, and tried to take some of the snow out of my space and put it along the road. That was quite tough. I finally got my space cleared out and it started raining. I tried to do a bit of the common area of the parking space, but the snow was so heavy, and frankly, there was just too much of it for me.

I went into the school, basically stripped off all my wet clothes, sent Fumihiko a text message asking him to call me, and then did some "school" work. I made cards, prepared paperwork for renewals and prepared some receipts. I didn't waste my time at all!

He finally called me and said that he'd had an accident at work. Don't want to go into many details, but he's fine, and so is the other driver. One person may have been slightly hurt. From what I heard it didn't sound like Fumihiko was to blame. I asked him to pick me up when he was done work.

Because I didn't know when Fumihiko was coming I had to get dressed in my still soaking clothes. Sigh. I had thought to bring a fresh t-shirt with me, but for some reason didn't think about pants. My coat was really wet too. Sigh. When Fumihiko did arrive, instead of leaving, he wanted the shovel to move some of the snow. He was gone for 15 minutes or so. He told me later that he'd been stuck in the parking lot entrance for a while and wanted to try to clear the snow out.

When we got in the car he asked me where I wanted to go. There was only one place, home. I needed dry clothing and fast. I was shivering so hard that my teeth were nearly chattering. At our apartment I raced out of the car and inside.

After a bit, and a fax from a student cancelling her lesson tomorrow afternoon, we went out for dinner. I was feeling better by now. We went the cheap and cheerful route at Gusto. Both of us were tired and achy.

We stopped in the grocery store to get some food for tomorrow night. We'll try and cook dinner tomorrow night.

At home again, we watched the end of Field of Dreams. That movie gets me everytime. The bit where Moonlight Graham changes back into Doc Graham had me tearing up again. I'm such a wuss! Then it was ER. Good show tonight. There was a guy who was a bit psychic on, and we found out a little secret about Jane and the surgeon who acts like a meanie all the time. Hmm.

That was my day. I hope and plan to take my achy old self off to bed anytime soon. Please cross your fingers that there won't be anymore snow overnight. Night night!

I always get all weepy during "Field of Dreams" as well. It seems goofy, but it gets me every time as well!

I'm not sure what it is. I don't even want to watch the movie when it's on, but then I realize how good it is and I enjoy it so much.

Thanks for visiting!
