February 16, 2009 - Monday

Snowy and cold.

This morning we got up late for Fumihiko, about on time for me. After my shower, and then a bagel, we went off to the taxation office. We talked to a man at the entrance, he sent us off somewhere else, we lined up, and gave the man my forms. Stamp, stamp. We were done. Huh? That was too easy! Last year we had to put all the info into the computer and it took ages. Oh well.

I wanted to pay my bill, so we went off to the bank, did that, then to the station to book my tickets for the end of the month. Yes, I'm such a flitterer these days. The end of this week I'm off to Chiba, next weekend I'm off to Niigata. We were hungry so we decided to have lunch at a place we go for dinner sometimes. Halfway there, I realized that Fumihiko didn't get to have lunch of his choice very often so asked him if he'd rather have soba. He would. We went to his favourite soba restaurant. It's the kind of place where they make their own soba flour and it's very high quality. We had a yummy lunch there. We both had hot soba with tempura. Mine was mixed tempura, his was squid.

We came home for a bit afterwards. We didn't really have anything that we needed to do, so we stayed home and vegged for a bit. I did a load of laundry. Usually I never do laundry when Fumihiko is around, but I really wanted this to dry.

Around 7 pm we went out for dinner to the place we didn't go to for lunch! It was nice. I had chicken and Fumihiko had the Japanese set. His looked very good too. After dinner, we went by my school so I could set the heater for tomorrow. It's a good thing I did as it was only 8.5 degrees in there. Yikes. That's rather cold. I also put the snow shovels near the door so that I could grab them easily tomorrow.

We bought a few groceries at the store, and then came home. I'm going to do a stirfry. I even bought some tofu to put in it. It should be good.

We had a relaxing evening at home. Fumihiko wanted to go to bed early, but I talked him into watching A Room With a View. He said he liked it, but I think that's because he likes both Maggie Smith and Helena Bonham Carter.

And that was it for my day. Tomorrow I'll have to try and shower early so that my hair will dry in time for the walk to work. I am not looking forward to shovelling snow tomorrow. It has frozen solid, so I'm not even sure I'll be able to do anything with it. I really hope that the entrance to my school wasn't plowed over. I'll be upset if it has been.

Well, best get on with it I think. I'm probably going to go to bed soon as I'm a mite tired and it's going to be a long week. Wish me luck! Night.
