June 4, 2009 - Thursday

Hot and sunny, a bit muggy.

A good day. I got up this morning and there were two happy things to report. The news in English was on, and there was coffee. Hurray. My DH had made coffee for me this morning.

I had a nice relaxing morning around the apartment. I watched Shopgirl, the Steve Martin movie. It was good. I was a tad surprised to see Claire Danes do a nude scene....I wanted to yell, "Angela, put your clothes back on!" but I didn't. It was a lot different than I thought it would be, and I mean that in a good way. I think Steve Martin is a very intelligent writer.

I also did a mondo amount of my laundry. I dithered about leaving it til tomorrow, but decided if I go out tomorrow I'd like to go with a clear conscience.

In the later part of the afternoon I had my brunch and then headed off to the school. I was all ready for my first class, but the student cancelled on me again. Sigh. I had even emailed her yesterday to say it was okay if she couldn't come, but she thought she would be able to. Today, just before her lesson time, she realized that she wasn't able to come.

My other two classes happened and went well. The kids one is a bit difficult because the two girls are quite different in abilities and ages. The last one of the day was fun. I made the student do a speech. She wrote most of it last time, but today had to present it. She did well.

After classes I cleaned up and then called Fumihiko to pick me up. We went to New York, New York and had dinner. It was quite nice, and not very expensive really. He had rice bar, I had salad bar, and both of us had drink bar too. It was good.

We came home and I made some decaf coffee and served us each a brownie. Oh my, they are good. I thought they'd be too sweet since they're from an American mix, but they were just right. Yum.

Basically that was my day. I'm still trying to figure out my cell phone. I suppose it would be a good idea to read the manual though! Maybe tomorrow I'll go out and take some photos or something.

That's it for me. Night!
