June 5, 2009 - Friday

Hot and muggy all day.

Today was an okay day. I got up, watched the news and then vegged a lot. I planned to go out but somehow never got around to it. I did get a text from Fumihiko saying that he has to work on Sunday for a few hours, but will take Monday off instead.

During the day I made myself some iced coffee and put one of my flavoured syrups in it. The flavour de jour was raspberry. Well, I was pouring the syrup into my glass, when it glopped all over my nice white counter and onto the floor. It looked a bit like one of my CSI show's crime-scenes! I thought about posting a picture to my blog, but didn't want to scare away my readers! In the late afternoon, when I was making iced coffee to give to hubby it happened again. This time it got on my kitchen mat and didn't come out. Sigh. I did mix the syrup with some cocoa and put that in the iced coffee. Hey, Starbucks has it as one of their flavours, so why not me?

My husband was rather late tonight. He was home after 7. He had forgotten that it was my day off today, since my class cancelled.

We went to the Okonomiyaki Restaurant for dinner tonight, and had 2 very good okonomiyakis. One was curry-cheese (my favourite) and the other was Kimchee-Ebi. They were both really delicious.

We went to the grocery store after dinner. Fumihiko had been there before to pick up his munchies (he bought natto--ACK!) but hadn't bought MILK. Hello? It's quite funny, but I don't think he's ever bought natto while I've been around before. Maybe he thought he'd eat it tonight when I was "at work"?

We came home and had a very quiet evening at home. I watched today's Re: Genesis because I'd forgotten to watch it earlier. Fumihiko went to bed a couple of hours ago in his clothes. He's still there. I think I'm going to have to wake him up so he can change. I don't think jeans are too comfy to sleep in.

Anyway, that's it for me. Tomorrow I'm off to the school for most of the day. I have 3 classes, with 3 hours between the first and second one. I'm hoping to get my planning done, read my newspaper and maybe finish my book. Wish me luck with it all.

I love cheese curry. Now that I'm planning to leave in the somewhat distant future, I'm starting to wonder what I'll miss. I'm guessing cheese curry might be one of those things.

Mmm....I think that may be an "only in Japan" flavour. It's yummy. I really like the flavour in Okonomiyaki too. It is strong enough to stand out, but not so strong that I'm tasting curry the rest of the day.

Thanks for stopping by!
