Happy Canada Day!

Rainy, humid and hot.

An okay day today. I woke up, got up, checked for news and didn't find any. Then, napped on the couch. Ah, I love days off! I woke up a lot later and got on with my day. I got busy, but not in the normal sense of the word busy.

First I took some pictures for my Journal column and then I proofed my column. I changed a little and added a couple of new things, but the bulk of the work was done already. Then, I sent it off to the Journal editor. Yay. Done for another couple of months.

Then it was time to tackle the next big thing. Booking tickets for our inside Canada trips. Of course, we can't keep things simple, can we? Hubby and I have different leaving dates so it complicates things a bit, but I think (crosses fingers) things will work out. Hubby came home right in the middle of me trying to book things and I'm afraid I wasn't the nicest person I could be to him. I was trying to make sure we were on the same airplane and he was making coffee (noisy) and toasting bread. Finally I got it all done. Whew.

For dinner I suggested something a little different. I suggested going to Sakata to a restaurant. We went to Steak Miya and had steak. I had a smaller one than hubby, and we also had the soft ice cream bar. I wouldn't let him get ice cream until he finished his meal tonight. Honestly, F can be so greedy at times. Who wants to have ice cream with his onion soup? Oh yes, HE does!

On the way home I suggested stopping into the big mall to look for Katie's birthday present. My niece's birthday is next month and I've been thinking about what I should get her for ages. We picked up three things at a store, they're kind of mix and match so I think she'll like them. I hope so anyway. I want to get something else tomorrow too for her.

We dropped off my goodies from Sendai at the school on the way home. At home we had a quiet evening. I watched Desperate Housewives and then F started watching after his bath. Of course, he had to ask me a bunch of questions about the show. I shushed him but it was annoying. I don't know what's going to happen. Don't ask me. Look it up if you want to know!

Anyway, the rest of the evening passed quickly. F is sleeping away. I'm glad as this weather is not good for his back. It's hot, so places are using the air conditioner and if he sits in the draft it bothers him. I even changed places with him at the restaurant because he was in the wrong place. I need to finish that scarf up soon!

That's about it for me. If any fellow Canadians are reading, I hope you had a great day. Night!
