July 2, 2009 - Thursday

Drizzly and cloudy all day, a little cooler.

I had a goodish day today. I got up, but wasn't interested in staying up, so slept on for a bit. It was so dark out it didn't seem like daytime yet. When I did get up, I got dressed and watched some show with Tim Gunn about helping a woman dress better. He had some really good ideas and the whole show was good. Sometimes I think the "before" person looks better, but she definitely was dressing better at the end. I did three loads of laundry too. Ack. Still, it's done now. Hurray.

Made up some sheets for my school too. I got a free bag from Penguin Readers and the bookstore on Monday, thought I'd pass it on to my students by running a competition. I want them to read books in English. For each one they read and write a short book report on, they can get an entry form. In a couple of months I'll have a draw and we'll see who wins. Hope it works out.

I went over to the school but made a stop at the drugstore first. I got Katie something else for her present then went on to the school.

Classes went well today but they both could have used extra time. The first one especially I rushed the ending, but as it was the alphabet and we use a separate book to study it from, I think it was okay.

I was supposed to cook dinner tonight, but F was tired so we went out. We went to Grado and had chicken and pork ribs. It was very nice. We went to the grocery store afterwards and got things for dinner on Friday night. We will eat at home on Friday.

Got home and found a fax from the mother of my Friday student. He has club so can't come tomorrow. That means, no work. Kinda yay, kinda boo about the whole thing. I don't get paid, but it's one class on a Friday night.

Hubs asked me a funny question tonight,"What does 'easy-paysey' mean?"

I thought for a second and said,"Do you mean easy-peasy?"

He meant easy-peasy...I told him it was one of those rhyming things in English...Japanese has lots of them too.The funniest thing for me was that he couldn't say "peasy" at all. It kept coming out as "paysey", which makes sense only if he's never heard it.

It's not as funny as my Mitsukoshi/muzukashi mix-up, but it comes close.

I have to get some sleep. Night!
