Tuesday - Sunny with intermittent showers

A pretty good day today.

I woke up once fairly early, but it was dark and gloomy and rainy outside so decided to reset my alarm and go back to sleep. I did and ended up oversleeping. Ack. Still, I got up.

I checked email and such as usual, watched part of a movie and then realised that it was the blooming afternoon and I was still unshowered and in my pyjamas. And I had to go to work later on.

I grabbed a quick shower, got dressed and then in a fit of domesticity, vacuumed the apartment. Well, at least the important bits!

I made myself a rather nice lunch today. I took F’s uneaten spaghetti from yesterday, heated it up a little in the microwave with a bit of water to unstick it, then stir-fried it with some of the leftover salad, tomatoes, and a pork chop cooked and cut up. I added a bit of olive oil and pepper and an egg for good measure. It was good. In Japanese terms it was a little like yakisoba, but in my terms it was delicious!

When I left for work a few minutes later it was nice out. Cloudy yes, but the sun was shining. I wore a jacket, but didn’t bother taking my rain cape or a rain coat. You know what’s going to happen, don’t you? Yep, I got rained on. And then rained on some more. And then even more!

I had planned to go to the drugstore before work, but changed my mind since I was dripping wet. I went straight to my school and hung up my wet clothes in the shower.

I spent my extra time today reading the newspaper and working on the jigsaw puzzle that my sister and her hubby gave me for Christmas. I finally got it done and it was quite cool. It’s an optical illusion one. I’m debating keeping it in one piece versus taking it apart again.

After my class, I did my paperwork and did the dishes. I read a bit of my magazine and got ready to leave. Unfortunately when I called F there was no answer. Oh dear. Was he at home asleep or still working? He called me back a few minutes later and he had just finished work. A crisis had come up and he had to drive somebody somewhere. It’s the nature of the place he works, so I can’t (and didn’t) get mad at him.

He picked me up and we went home for a brief moment to change. My clothes were mostly dry by this time, but mostly dry isn’t very comfortable to sit around an air-conditioned restaurant in. We also grabbed the old newspapers and took them off to Grado with us.

At Grado we had a nice meal. It was a combo of fish and meat tonight, plus we got appetisers, cold soup, bread or rice and dessert plus a drink. We enjoyed our meal. They had a waitress on tonight, and she wasn’t bad. I think she was new, but quite decent. She cleared our plates before she brought the next course. So much more sensible than bringing the next course first….the male waiters all seem to do that!

We came home and had a mostly quiet time until I remembered that Jaime Oliver was on around midnight, so we watched that, then F watched some silly Ultimate Fighting thing. Urgh.

Anyway, no plans for tomorrow, yet. I hope to get out of the apartment, maybe go to the mall for a change. I haven’t been out much lately due to the weather. That’s it for me. Night!

Thanks for visiting with me at Books & Quilts.

I think Ihave more fun sending out postcards for Postcrossing than I do when I receive them. Hope you enjoy it as well.

Thanks Heather. I've only sent out a couple so far and it was fun.
