Wednesday - Warm and sunny.

Last night neither of us slept very well. I was cold and got up for a blanket, F had muscle problems and fidgeted for ages. I woke up and he was lying on the couch not sleeping, then came back to bed. His alarm woke us both up and we were both tired.

I went back to sleep and then woke up with a start when my alarm went off. Ack. I got up to check email quickly before going back to bed. After a while I looked at the clock and realised it was around 11 and I was still up. No going back to bed for me.

I had a quiet day at home. I watched a movie I taped earlier this week, The Box. I didn’t like it. It was strange, and not in a good way. I decided to head downtown after 4 pm.

I biked off, debating the raincoat/ no raincoat thing and decided no raincoat. I was safe today. No rain. At the mall, I bought a few postcards and then went to Doutors for a sandwich and an iced milk tea. Yum. I started reading a new book while I was there, the third Mercy Thompson novel. It’s pretty good so far, for that kind of thing!

My phone rang. F was calling. I told him where I was and he came to meet me. We bought a few things in the mall and then put our shopping in the car. We went back in looking for decent shoes and socks for him, but weren’t able to find any. He wears polyester socks in summer and wonders why his feet are hot. Umm, hello? Polyester. The mall doesn’t really have a good men’s store so we couldn’t get what we wanted.

After that, we left the mall and F put my bike in the boot. We went in search of dinner. I had suggested Kintaro sushi tonight, thinking that the new place would be too busy, but F wanted to go there. Kappa Sushi, the big chain just opened in my city today. We went and it was okay. The woman was really sweet and put the monitor into English for me ( I didn’t know they could do that!) but it was confusing as I’m used to ordering sushi by the japanese names! My katakana reading is fairly good. We had a decent meal and both had too much. I’m not sure how often we’ll go, but it’s nice to have the option now.

I got F to run me to the school to pick up my watch and then we came back to the grocery store. I’m going to cook tomorrow night. If F doesn’t eat the dinner I make I think I’ll go on strike!

We came home and have spent a quiet evening at home. I hope to get to bed a little earlier than I did last night as I’m twice as tired! Hopefully I’ll have more to report tomorrow night. Until then, signing off….TTFN
