Monday - Hot and sunny, cloudy in the morning, rain at night

A good day.

I got up this morning at my first alarm and stayed up. Well, I think it was my first alarm…! I checked email, made the bed and got ready to go out. I even found time for a quick bite before I left the apartment.

I went to the local theatre and saw Transformers: Dark of the Moon. It was better than number two, but I still wouldn’t drag a friend to it. I just wanted to get out of the house and as I saw the early show it was a little cheaper. I had some popcorn and a drink as I got there just as the film was going to start.

Afterwards, I left the theatre and biked up the hill towards the centre of town. I stopped at the bank to update my passbook and then went to S-Mall. I had a sandwich and an iced tea at Doutors while I read my AFWJ Journal. I was getting ready to leave when a lady came over to talk to me. She was one of my students back in L’Eikaiwa days. I remembered her after we’d chatted for a while. She wanted pointers on how to teach her child English. I probably should have said, “Send her to my school”, but I didn’t!

I didn’t go to the hundred yen shop today, I didn’t even go upstairs. I got a few things at the grocery store for work and then came home.

At home I found another Postcrossing card to me. That was a nice surprise, especially since I’ve received more than I’ve sent. This one came from the US and had a picture of Old Faithful on it.

I did quite a bit of housework today. I cleaned the toilet before I went out. I thought I’d not come home if I didn’t do it before I left! After I came home, I watched some taped TV and then vacuumed the apartment. Hadn’t been done for a while and really needed it.

F came home a little late, not much though. He didn’t ask about my day at all, so he has no idea that I went out to the mall or anything else. He doesn’t read this very often, so don’t anyone tell him, okay?

We cooked dinner later. We had bought cold asparagus soup, salad, gyoza (F cooked, from frozen) and Worchester-sauced pork. It was quite nice, except F needed rice with it.

He did the dishes, and we had a quiet night. He did a bit more translation for me. I needed a holiday letter to give to my students. Hurray for him.

I watched Medium tonight and it was okay. It was part one of a story, so will have to watch it tomorrow night. There was a lot about Joe on it, so I was happy.

I spent a long time making my movie reviews so far this year ready for publishing and then published them. They are listed below if you are interested. I’ve seen 20 films at the theatre so far this year. Not bad for this country. (Yes, some are repeats.)

Anyway, that’s it for me. I’m out of here. Night!

Good for you getting another postcard!
I'm still waiting for one, but more importantly I am waiting for the one I sent to arrive.

I was happy about it...but you won't get one until yours arrives. :-( If you can, I'd ask for another address or two. Some places take forever to arrive.

According to the Forum posts at Postcrossing, cards to Russia and China take a looooonnngg time to get there. For me, I've got a couple that are travelling 30 days or more and they still haven't arrived. One is going to China and the other Taiwan. I have to wait until they time out now. Boo!
