Sunday - Hot and sunny
A good day.
I went to bed very late last night. Daylight was breaking as I went to bed and that isn’t that early anymore. Late! I obviously slept very late in return.
I dragged myself out of bed before 1 and came through to the living room. F was watching sports on the TV so he seemed quite happy. After a bit though we decided to get going. We stripped the bed and put all the bedding into bags. Then, we loaded it into the car and set off. First up was lunch.
We had a quick and cheerful lunch at Kappa Sushi. We got in almost right away and had quite a few nice things. We also tried their special dessert and sort of wished we hadn’t. It was okay, but it wasn’t good tiramisu.
On the way to the sushi place we noticed a fire engine. F said he’d heard a lot of sirens earlier on. It turns out that the old junk yard near the big corner we always turn on the main road had a fire overnight. The firefighters or investigators were there for hours. We saw them hours later. I’ve always thought that place was a hazard, just didn’t know it would burn. I think a shed or a lean-to as we’d say on the farm burned.
After lunch we tried to find a laundromat. F took us to one he wanted to try, using the scenic route. We got there and it was okay, but not air conditioned and the machines were really small. There were also no vending machines nearby, so we decided to go to our usual place after all. We did and we did our laundry. No big deal.
When we finished hours later, we came home and made up the bed. It’s nice to have fresh bedding again.
We decided to go out for dinner. For some reason I really wanted cold pasta tonight. I just had a hankering for it. I suggested a few places and then we decided to go to Fireball. It’s fairly close and we had a filled up stamp card for a meal for free. We went there but it was a bit busy. Still, we got a table and looked at the menu. The cold pasta on the menu tonight was hamachi-like fish, uncooked tomatoes and avocado. It sounded like it was made for me! We ordered the 2500 set meal, plus another pasta and the drink bar. We split most of the set meal and it was fine for us. We had a very nice meal. F got the coffee at the end, I got most of the dessert, and the pastas we had were lovely. Besides mine, we also had one that was pork, raw tomatoes and vegetables. It was nice too. There was even half a roasted chicken with the meal. We did very well we both thought.
We went to the grocery store afterwards for tomorrow night’s dinner. I think I’ll make my stirfry. No big deal, just a bit of prep, that’s all.
At home again, we chilled for a while, then F said it was okay to put on the movie I taped on Friday. We watched it. It was Going the Distance with Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. It was okay, but honestly, the dialogue was quite sexual and came over as being crude not witty. The stars chemistry was fine (they were a real life couple for a while) but some of it was just too vulgar for me.
And that’s about it for my day. Tomorrow F is back at work and I’m at home, hopefully writing my column. I may take a break and run to the post office. One of my postcrossing cards finally arrived. It took 37 days to get to China. Ack. Such a long time.
Speaking of Postcrossing before I go, would you, my reader, be interested in seeing the postcards I receive or send? I was thinking of either posting them here or posting them in a new separate blog. Any interest?
Thanks! Night.

I'd be interested in seeing the postcards. It'd also give you a digital back-up of them in case something happens to them (that's me trying to say there's something in it for you, too ;-) ).
Yes! Please post your postcards :)
37 days, wow! That's a long time.
But then again, when I lived in China I didn't received everything that was sent to me...
Post them here, I say :)
Okay! Thanks. It looks like I will try posting them here soon.
I do keep a digital record of them on my computer and on the Postcrossing site, but it would be nice to let other people see the really beautiful ones!
Thanks for the input dear readers!
