Thursday - Hot and sunny, in other words, just like the rest of the week so far!

An okay day. I went to bed rather late last night and ended up sleeping later today. I didn’t care as much as I should. It’s so hot that I feel I should be lying supine on the divan sipping a restorative cordial while someone (Jason Statham?) fans me. I don’t have a divan however. Sigh. I must invest in one.

During the day, I received a couple of videos from another part of Japan. That was nice. I hope the postman was entranced by my lovely Hawaiian muumuu. He’s very funny, he always checks the address with me. I don’t know, YOU work for the post office, not me buddy! Then he checks my name, which is on the little thing by the door anyway. Does he think that I’d pay for someone else’s delivery? Still, I suppose, better safe than sorry.

I took my computer to the couch today in order to try and sit in the crosswind. It helped for a while, but the heat became quite unbearable so I turned on the AC. That wasn’t as easy as it sounds as I had dropped the remote on the floor. The batteries fell out and it lost all of the settings on the thing. I don’t read kanji so I had to Google the kanji to make sure I didn’t turn the heating function on by mistake. I also watched half of an Italian movie about a bank robbery. The part I saw was quite cool and I didn’t need to understand what was said. They had a very elaborate set up and took gold bars out of a bank vault. It was incredibly stylish. I wonder what happened in the end.

In the latter part of the afternoon I made my lunch. It was yummy. I had an omelette with garlic zucchini and cheddar. So good.

I went over to my school via the drug store. It was so hot in my school when I arrived. It was something like 35 degrees. That’s too hot for me. I ran the AC and the fan and got the air moving which really helped to cool it down.

My student came on time and we had a good class. We started the last part of the unit, which is always exciting as it gives us a chance to review. I like that!

After school I finished up and then called F. He came to get me and we went to Marumatsu tonight for dinner. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t terrible either. I had chicken cutlet , F had udon and sushi. He said his was okay, which is really F-speak for “I didn’t like it that much.”

We came home via the grocery store and at 11 I watched Royal Pains and then at 12 I watched the last part of the documentary about eating foods produced within a hundred miles for one hundred days. I liked it. But, as I said last night, BC is one of those places that grows so much of its own food that it would be much easier than doing it here for example. I doubt we could do it in Japan.

Anyway, that’s about it for today. It was quite a nice day really and I’m looking forward to tomorrow. No plans really, just see what comes up. Thanks for reading. Night.
