Tuesday - Rainy

An okay day today. I was woken by my cell phone this morning. F called me to tell me that his niece’s party date was actually the 23rd. I told him I had been thinking and had decided not to go. He wasn’t too happy with me as he’d already told his sister I’d go.

I got up, got dressed and a little while later, F came home for a minute. He’d forgotten his thermos.

I spent a quiet day at home. I did some vacuuming which was sorely needed, then watched my TV shows from when I was away. They were good. I was just about to make my lunch when the doorbell went. I checked the monitor and had no idea who it was. I grudgingly opened the door and found it was Mormon missionaries. I wasn’t sure which of us was more surprised, but we chatted for a few minutes then I said adieu. I had to make lunch.

Lunch today was interesting. I didn’t buy eggs this week, so I had an instant pasta thing, jazzed up with some bacon, tomatoes and cucumber, plus a bit of olive oil, half the packet of seasonings from the original dish and some black pepper. So yummy! I also had a cucumber sandwich. Yum.

I biked off to work in the pouring rain and only got mildly wet. I wore my rain cape, but my jeans from my knees down got soaked and so did my hair. I did make it safely to the school though.

I set up the school for my class, quickly made up a goodie bag for my student, then waited for her. And waited. At 10 past the appointed time, I called but there was no answer. She did call me back just before the end of her class to say she had been in a meeting and couldn’t come.

I finished reading the newspapers and then did a row of my crochet. I called F and then texted him, but there was no answer. He must have still been working. Finally, just as I was finishing up the row I was on, he called me and then came to get me.

We came home and after registering all my postcards (I got three!) I made dinner. It was quite nice. I did chicken with salad, mini- tomatoes and cucumber, plus something I found in the freezer that was only a week past it’s expiry date! I thought dinner was good, although F made himself some ramen afterwards.

I had a quiet evening. F watched some news or something before trying to register his card. We can’t read the number as the post office stamped over it.

We watched Undercover Boss and then started watching a silly movie about used car salespeople. I turned it off.

Basically that was my day. It was okay. Not great, not bad. The weather is still awful. Typhoon number 15 is hitting Japan and I think we might be getting a bit of it. Lots of areas are flooding and there are landslide warnings too, so not much fun. Hope it doesn’t do too much damage. Talk to you later I hope! Night.
