Wednesday - Rainy, with a side order of more rain
An okay day. I slept in this morning. It was the one day this week that I could actually sleep in and not feel guilty, so I did. I had thought about going to a movie in the morning, but decided not to go as it was raining quite hard and I wanted to sleep!
When I got up I watched a bit of TV and checked the computer..usual stuff. No big deal really.
I spent a quiet day at home for the most part. I wrote a couple of postcards and then sent them from the post office in the afternoon. Rather than ride my bike in the rain, I walked. It was nice to get out of the house.
F called me around 6 to say he’d be late, so I didn’t worry at least when he didn’t come home for a while. He came in around 7.
We went out for dinner. Once again when I asked him if he had any preferences or any choices he said he didn’t have any. I came up with Cafe Frambois, so we went there. I had steak and F had the Japanese set. He was happy, I was happy. Honestly, couldn’t he have thought of a place like that?
We dropped off some new texts for a new student at my school. I didn’t want to risk them getting wet if I took them on my bike. We picked up a few groceries tomorrow at the store. I think I’m going to try making couscous. Any ideas how to jazz it up or make it yummy?
We came home and I discovered that my new student can’t start class tomorrow after all. She did ask to reschedule and suggested a date, so I do think she will come eventually.
F watched some news about the big typhoon. He does this crazy thing where he repeats what the man or woman on the TV says, only he does it in English for my “benefit”. I know he thinks he’s being helpful, but he isn’t really. I’m either not listening or I understand most of it and don’t want to know more. It’s not important things (to me) either, just things like “5 silly people fell in the river when they hung over the bridge by their toes and lost their grip.” I call that kind of thing the Darwin Effect.
I watched Grey’s Anatomy at 11 with Hub trying to do stuff on his computer. I was also crocheting so my poor brain was in pain. I have to keep bossing F around on his computer because even though he reads Japanese, he has no idea how to use his computer, and I had reached a fiddly part of my crochet and couldn’t figure it out for a while. Happily, both managed to sort themselves out, but I didn’t see as much of Grey’s as I’d like. Oh well.
And that’s about it. There was more typhoon watching, and hand wringing by my husband. I don’t want to minimise how dangerous it is, but we aren’t terribly affected here. I don’t know why he watches the way he does.
I have to get to bed now. I’m really tired. Catch you tomorrow I hope. Night!
