Thursday - Warm and sunny. Lovely day.

I overslept a bit today but it was okay. Even though I had a class today, it wasn’t until later, so I wasn’t too upset with myself. I got up, made the bed, showered and then settled in to watch The West Wing. It was the season finale of year 2 on the show, the one that ended with the assassination attempt. It was a good episode, but I don’t think the channel is going to run any more of it. I am so disappointed. I love that show, and I missed the aftermath the first time it was on too. I guess I’ll have to watch my DVDs and then get season 3. Sigh.

I watched the NHK movie de jour, which was a documentary about Woodstock, but it wasn’t like any documentary that I’ve seen before. It was very free-flowing, just like Woodstock, if I’ve understood correctly! I didn’t really like the music, I’m just not a 60’s kind of music gal. I like it either older or younger than that!

For my lunch today I had last night’s pasta reheated with some bacon and an egg thrown in for good measure. It was good.

I left for work a few minutes after five and made a stop in the drugstore along the way. Long time no drugstore! I got a few things for myself, browsed the clothes section. There’s a cute hat that someone might like for Christmas, and then headed off to my school. It was getting quite dark by the time I got there, and it wasn’t quite 6 pm yet. Sigh. Winter is coming.

I got to work and made my school ready. It didn’t take too long today. I set up the water pot and changed the postcards, that kind of thing. When my student came, we had a good class. We talked about some of the postcards and also about my trip and her store’s event.

After class, I finished up and then called F. He came to get me and we decided to try a different place for dinner. F wanted to go to the cafe we found a couple of weeks ago. I was fine with it, but when we got there we found it closed in less than 30 minutes. Oh dear.

I suggested the Korean restaurant nearby, so we went there. We had an adventure parking, but we managed. We had 3 dishes, chapchae, my favourite, chichimee and a spicy chicken dish. They were all good. Afterwards we paid and then went to the grocery store. We bought things to make a nabe tomorrow night. It’s a way to let F have some food that he likes for a change!

We came home and had a quiet evening. It was nice and cheerful for a change. We didn’t watch TV until later. F turned it on as always. Sigh. Unless there’s something I want to watch, I rarely do that as things like infomercials bug me, but he seems to enjoy having them on in the background.

One thing that did bug me was he tried to invite himself along on my trip to Sendai at the end of next month. I’m planning to go to the ETJ expo, and I don’t want him along. We tried it once and it was a disaster. He was rude, unhelpful and we had one of those big fights we have, the ones where we both swear we’re going to get divorced the next day. If he pushes it, I’ll probably cancel my trip.

Anyway, tomorrow I have a few things to do, mostly outside the apartment, so I’ll probably go out for a while. At least, that’s what I hope at the moment! Talk to you tomorrow night.

I didn't watch the Woodstock documentaries either yesterday or today. I dislike the unkept long hair and bad fashion and druggy culture of the youngs then, and I can't bear the music. I remember my parents in the late sixties, when I was a little kid, listening to Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan, and if Sam plays the music of either of them it still makes my skin crawl. Horrible voices!
I saw the movie on Wednesday with Diane Lane, what was it, A Walk on the Moon? It's a similar story to Unfaithful, where Lane is also an unfaithful wife, and the guy she did sexytime with in this movie was played by the same actor Gweneth Paltrow cheated with in the remake of Dial M for Murder. It all sort of combined in my head and I expected somebody to be murdered by Richard Gere or Michael Douglas.

I watched the documentary for about 10 minutes today, and got tired of people calling other people "cats". I was surprised at how muddy the place was though. I've only ever heard good things about Woodstock and not that it was muddy and dirty and everyone got stuck in the mud!

Not a big fan of Janis or Bob Dylan. Happily my hub doesn't listen to rock music...so I don't hear it often.

I didn't mind A Walk on the Moon...what I saw of it, but I had no idea that Diane Lane likes to get her kit off so often!

Liked your comment about thinking she'd end up dead!

Thanks for visiting!
