Friday - Warm and sunny, bit humid too

A pretty good day. I surprisingly woke up before my alarm today and didn’t go back to sleep. I wanted to, believe me, but I didn’t. I stayed up, read the newspaper and a few blogs, then a bit of channel surfing led me to The Man Who Knew Too Much, so I watched that. I had no idea that Doris Day was in that movie, nor that she sang so much in it. I quite enjoyed the film. I didn’t see the beginning, but it was fun. I think a lot of films have ripped off the ending at the concert. I’ve seen in it a few other films.

In the afternoon, I made a quick trip to the post office to buy a 20 yen stamp and send off a couple of postcards. I’m sending one to Germany this time and trying to get one to a person in Taiwan. The first time I only had her address in English, this time I put the kanji address on too. It’s a different card, but hopefully it’ll get through.

I came home via a convenience store. I got a couple of things to eat. After I ate, I started doing something important. Packing! I packed a lot of stuff, but I’m not sure if it’s the right stuff or not. Hopefully.

F came home and then popped out again to go to a post box. After he came back, we had a bit of a lie down on the bed and had a nice chat. We haven’t done enough of that lately.

Hub wanted sanma for dinner, so we went to Hana. I didn’t want fish, so I had tonkatsu which was quite nice.

We came home via the grocery store, but I refused to get out of the car. I was sure that F was going to go walkabout, but he was out quite quickly. I just didn’t want to walk all over the store when I didn’t need anything.

We came home and I worked on a little project for myself. I love my handbag, but the handle is wearing out. Structurally it is okay, but the leatherette is going. Anyway I covered the handle with a little crochet. It’s not perfect, but makes it look a little better I think!

I watched Glee and Desperate Housewives with F tonight, and did a bit more of my shawl. That was relaxing. I’m not taking it with me, as it’ll be a little hard to do it on the plane.

A-hem. Which brings me to my next bit. Early on Sunday F and I are going on a trip. We’ll be back next week, probably next Saturday! Since we are going to leave early on Sunday, I probably won’t blog tomorrow night. I’ll likely be trying to get some sleep!
