Thursday - Sunny and warm

A good day. I overslept a tad this morning, but got up and got on with my day. No biggie. I had a good morning in the apartment and left for work right on time. I went to the school, and got ready for my class.

My student came and we had a good class. We both enjoyed ourselves and that’s always a nice thing.

I had a long break so I did my paperwork, I washed the kitchen floor mat and then I went out. I just went to a couple of the local drugstores, but it was really nice to get out under my own steam.

I came back to the school and read my newspapers and had some tea. I got ready for my next class and then when the student came we had a good discussion, followed by some interesting vocabulary.

After class, I finished up and then called F. I let him know that I was on my way home. I rode home and it was a nice night for it.

There is a weird thing with my bike. The handlebars aren’t perpendicular to the front wheel. I think it has something to do with the way that F straightens my bike after he takes it out of the car trunk. I don’t think he’s really careful some nights. Anyway, it was odd to cycle with my arms at different positions to make sure I went straight!

After I’d been home for a bit, we went out for gas and dinner. We went to New York, New York for the first time in ages. I had a new pasta dish there. It was good, but I think a tad overpriced. I probably won’t have it again. We bought a few groceries and then came home. I’ll most likely cook tomorrow night.

We watched a couple of episodes of American Idol. We are so behind…I know it is already over in the US. They’re probably getting ready for the next one! We enjoyed it. F wants to go on it and sing his silly Japanese “Ge Ge Ge” song, but I’m trying to convince him he’s too old!

Anyway, that’s about it for me. Tomorrow I’m off work and I hope to go out. I don’t want to say too much as I’m afraid of jinxing myself. Night!

Looks like your bike alignment's off! Best to get it sorted soon, it's not very safe, on the whole.

How do you feel about Edmonton compared to where you live now? I'm curious because Edmonton is pretty derided here in Calgary and, well, everywhere else really.

Thanks for the advice about my bike.

And about your other comment...I was always taught that if you had nothing nice to say, it was better not to say anything at all.

I'm very surprised to hear that you use bike. Yamagata is a cold place, do you use bike in winter?

And I'm really intereseted in "Ge Ge Ge " song.

Hi Mieko...by bike I mean bicycle...just so you know. I only ride it in winter when there isn't too much snow! A lot of days I have to walk to work because it isn't safe to bicycle.

My husband always sings "The Ge Ge Ge Song" from Japanese animation at karaoke. He loves it and after listening to him sing it for so long, I do too! He likes the old version, not the updated faster one.

"We went out for gas and dinner." Around here the gas always comes after the dinner.

Theresa, I know! I almost put it like that, but then I thought about what it meant! Besides, chronologically, that is the way it happened!

Do you mean my comment, or your feelings? If the former sorry - it was a bit overboard to be saying Edmonton is hated on worldwide.

If you meant you're not too fond of your current place compared to Edmonton, well, hope that gets better for you.
