Sunday - Rainy and cloudy

A good day. I went to bed very late this morning, even for me. WOWOW was showing Harry Potter movies one after another and I was sucked in. I was enjoying them immensely, but I realised if I didn’t get to bed soon, I’d have to stay up all day.

I slept a bit late, but got up before 12 to an empty apartment. F had gone to visit his mum, so I did my computer stuff. He came home soon though, and we discussed our plans for the day. We decided to have lunch over at the mall and then go and see a movie.

We drove over to the mall and parked the car. We had lunch in one of the very Japanese-style restaurants that F has always tried to get me to go to, and I’ve always said no. I just felt like it today, to be honest. I hate fighting about food, but also feel that if I let F have his way one day, he’ll never return the favour. This is a man, after all, who feels that ramen for 2 meals in a day isn’t enough. Sigh. Anyway, the food was okay. I had a donburi of cooked salmon with mayonnaise on rice, with miso soup and pickles. F had tuna sashimi on rice and miso soup. We shared an order of tempura as well. It was okay.

After lunch we looked at books of nengajo (New Years Cards) for a while, then F went out to the car to get his medicine. I was feeling overheated so went to the door with him. I was amazed to see him walk past the section where we were parked and head for the middle of the mall’s parking lot. I shouted to him, and he finally turned around. I pointed to where the car was and he came back and found it. Honestly, what would he do without me?

We checked out the hardware store and we got a few things. I got a drain cleaner thingy, a finger gripper for grabbing hot plates out of the microwave, and a set of headphones for F’s computer. Yay to that one. Lately he’ll play something on his computer while the TV is on. Usually his stuff, so I have Japanese blaring at me from both sides of the room. Ack.

We put the stuff in the car and then had a quick drink at Seattle’s Best, then went up to the theatre to see Cowboys & Aliens. I liked it a lot. It was fun, and had some good actors in it too. Daniel Craig is not bad, not bad at all!

After the movie we went to Toda Books and got our Nengajo book, then had dinner at the New York, New York in Mikawa. It was okay but it didn’t have chicken on the menu. Oh no! I love chicken so was bereft. I had a hamburger which was okay.

We came home and then made a quick dash through the grocery store. At home, we had a quiet evening together. It was nice. F has also decided that since I’m going away next weekend, he will go to his party after all. I’m quite pleased as I don’t like to think of him alone at home pining after me!

Anyway, that’s it for me tonight. I’ll catch you tomorrow. Night!
