Tuesday - partly cloudy, coolish
A good day. I woke up this morning about 30 minutes before my alarms started to go off and then stayed up. I was astonished at myself! I checked for foreign news, there was a bit, but it was the type where NHK tells us what they’re going to show us and then only show us one story. Still, I saw a bit.
I had a good if mostly quiet day today. I showered early on, watched a bit of TV, and even had a bite to eat at lunchtime. I didn’t hear from my student so I assumed she was busy or hadn’t received my email.
In the afternoon I decided to go out and have tea or something. When I left the apartment I found a postcard to me hanging on the door in a plastic bag! It was a really big one, about 10 inches square, and the sender had decorated the back of it too. It was beautiful. I’ll try and do a postcrossing update tomorrow if I have time.
I went out, biked to the craft store, didn’t buy much, then hacked around the drugstore and didn’t buy much there either. My original plan was to stop in on the way home at McDonalds and have a tea or something, but it was dark and there were some scary black clouds up, so I decided to skip it and go home. F came home soon afterwards.
We had dinner at Cafe Framboise and it was nice. At first there was nobody but us two in the restaurant, but after a while a few singles came in.
We drove over to Yamaya so I could get more couscous. Of course, we got a few other things too, like fixings for tomorrow’s dinner. We’re going to have fresh pasta with garlic alfredo sauce. I’m hoping to get a salad or something tomorrow to go with it.
We had a quiet evening at home. We watched the first live performance show of the X-Factor and enjoyed it. F went to bed afterwards and then got up about an hour or more later. Argh! He was looking for medicine, now he’s just rustling paper and generally driving me crazy. He doesn’t get the whole concept of peace and quiet being conducive to calm.
Anyway, that’s about it for me. I had a good night and I hope to talk to you all a couple of times tomorrow night. See you!

I don't know why, but the rustling of bags and paper drives me nuts.
I recently felt extremely irritated by another passenger on the train who would not stop rustling and fussing with whatever was in her plastic grocery bag. Arg!
I need to find myself some couscous. I love it, but can't say I've found it around here.
Take care!
To have someone rustling papers at 2 in the morning when it was peaceful 2 minutes before just drove me crazy. He just doesn't get it!
I found couscous at Yamaya...so if there's one near you, maybe they'll have it. It was in the area with the pasta. Kaldi's or Jupiter would probably have it too.
Thanks for visiting!
