Sunday - Cold with some snow, warmer at night

Today was okay. It was the first day off together since the big holiday, so of course I slept in. I also went to bed before F which was a big surprise for me!

I got up the first time around 11, went back to bed and then got a phone call just before the time I had planned to get up. It was my student who didn’t come yesterday. She had been ill. No harm, no foul. I was glad to hear from her, and we set an appointment for next week. I went back to sleep for a bit.

I got up later, checked my email and such and then got dressed. F and I went out for lunch to Kappa Sushi. It wasn’t bad. They didn’t have my favourite foods on offer today, but some of the sushi was quite good. I had a very nice piece of salmon and also tried the crab salad. Yum.

F was crying about needing new socks, so we went out to Mikawa and got him some new ones. We got me a few pairs too. F even persuaded me to try a couple of men’s socks for a change. Some of the Women’s ones do fit, but they are a little tight or short. The cotton socks I brought back from Canada last year are already wearing out. Sigh. The gorgeous ones I bought in Australia are doing quite well though! Yay Australia!

We drove back to Tsuruoka and came home for a bit. I cooked a pizza that was in our fridge and due to expire, then we wolfed it down. It was okay.

We headed out again to the theatre in Tsuruoka and saw “Morse” or as it is called in English, Let Me In. It’s the US remake of Let The Right One In, the Swedish vampire film. I have to say that I was quite impressed with the remake. It was quite good. It managed to be more than a scene by scene recreation of the original.

After the movie, F asked if I was hungry so we ended up at McDonald. I had a drink and some chicken, F had a chocolate shake. I noticed an interesting picture on the wall, so I snapped you a picture of it.

Someone didn’t stay awake in Geography class.

We came home and had a quiet and peaceful evening in. I looked for patterns for an afghan. I bought some wool today at the mall and I want to make a throw for our chesterfield. It can get a little cold in the evenings and a nice throw would be good. I’ll keep you posted on what I make.

And that basically was my day. Tomorrow is a national holiday, but the powers that be have decided that the apartment dwellers must get up and shovel snow at 8:00 am tomorrow. I think I’ll still be sleeping when F goes out. Poor guy. I sort of feel sorry for him. Not that much though! Night.
