Monday - Warm, with a bit of snow

An okay day.

I slept in a bit. F was a good person and got up early to do snow shovelling.

After I got up and did a bit of computer stuff we went out for lunch. I suggested going to a hotel, but on the way there we changed our minds and went to Restaurant Futaba. It was a good choice and we had the baguette sandwich lunch. That was a sandwich with scrambled egg, bacon, avocado and it said cheese, but I’m not so sure on a rye baguette. It was yummy. It came with soup and a salad, plus we had dessert too.

We took a drive over to the Farmer’s Market type place, but they had nothing that I wanted to buy for veggies. I am quite disappointed. I realise it is January, but they had exactly the same stuff as my local grocer, plus it cost more.

We came home and then after a while I went to bed as I couldn’t keep my eyes open. F came in for a nap too, so the two of us were asleep for a couple of hours. I got up first and did computer stuff, while F slept.

Around 8:00 we went out again for dinner. F wanted to go to a fish restaurant, I didn’t really, but didn’t want to make a scene. Anyway it was okay. We had to sit on the floor which I’m not a big fan of now that I’m old and cranky, but shoganai. I was cold too, as my place at the table seemed to attract all the drafts from outside. Sigh. I had a salmon and salmon roe donburi and it was very good. F had some kind of tuna donburi and he said it was excellent. I have the sad feeling we’ll go back there.

We came home via the grocery store where they didn’t have anything I wanted to buy. Not really anyway. I’m making pasta for dinner tomorrow night and I wanted a salad. The salads were all gone and the plain lettuce was blooming expensive.

When we came home tonight F watched his usual crap and then I watched Harriet’s Law, the new Kathy Bates show. I had seen this episode before, but I have to get F used to me watching certain shows, or he’ll put on kickboxing. I also did up 3 cards for postcrossing. I’m sending out to the US, the Netherlands, and Belarus this time.

And that was my day. Not bad, not great. We didn’t have any major arguing, so that was almost cause for celebration. Got to go. Night!

I know it's a funny thing to comment on, but lettuce is darned expensive here too in the states. $3 or more for a tiny head of red or green leaf! Used to be about a $1 or so....Ah, the good old days!

It was about that much here too! I usually buy the precut salad, but the store was out of that too. It is hard to believe how much veggies are costing these days!
