Sunday - Remembrance Day - Sunny then cloudy with a touch of rain.
I had a good day today, surprisingly.
Last night before I went to bed I got myself all upset again, so I lay on the couch for a while until I calmed down. I was debating sleeping there, but decided to go to bed.
This morning I woke up before 10 and got up. Yay me. I had breakfast and got dressed. I was going to set out on my own for the international centre but I gave F his ticket and told him I hoped I’d see him there. At that, he seemed surprised that I was ready to go by myself. He dressed quickly and he drove us over to the Kokusai Mura.
We went to a presentation of the Japanese Tea Ceremony. It wasn’t quite what I expected, but I did enjoy it. We received a small handmade cake and an individual bowl of matcha. After we drank it, we were then invited to an English style tea. There wasn’t much ceremony there, just a sit and have a couple of cookies with tea, but it was nice too. I had two kinds of tea, a gorgeous organic/fair trade Darjeeling, and a herbal orangey tea. Both were lovely, except there was no milk. Sigh. I need milk in my tea. We both had a nice time.
Then, for added pleasure, we had lunch in the Kokusai Mura’s restaurant. It was a little Korean restaurant and their food was good. We both had a bibinba and shared some chap chae. Yum.
We came home for a few minutes. F wanted to go out again, he said to see the changing colours, so I grabbed two cds and off we went. We didn’t go all the way up the mountain as it was late and there were lots of low clouds, but drove around for a while. I enjoyed it, but honestly, slept through the first part of it.
In the evening, F asked about dinner and we decided to go to Amarume to a place that we haven’t been in ages. I don’t know the name of the restaurant, but it is a dome shaped one, behind a log cabin restaurant. We checked the menu and they had chicken for me and fish for F. Yay. It was a nice meal and the food was really good.
We then ended up at the Aeon Shopping Centre in Mikawa to look for a present for my brother in law. I think we got one too. Yay us. We cruised the toy store and looked for things for my nephew. Didn’t buy them tonight as I don’t know which ones he already has.
We came home and were just going to get out of the car, when I suggested going to the grocery store. We needed a few things for my breakfast and lunch tomorrow. We picked up some bread, milk and yogurt. I’m set for tomorrow now!
We came home and watched the latest version of The Three Musketeers. Both F and I did a postcrossing or two, but I also did some work with my woman’s group message system. A member was having problems.
That’s about it for me. It was a good day surprisingly. I would have liked more sleep, but at least there wasn’t any fighting. I wasn’t able to celebrate Remembrance Day in a meaningful way unfortunately, but F and I talked about it and how important it is in Canada. Got to go. Night.
