Saturday - Sunny and clear.  Lovely day

I got up this morning, showered and dressed.  F came back from the doctor’s and we went out to Gusto for Brunch.  He got a call on his cell phone but didn’t think anything of it. On the way to my school I got an email, and then another one.  It was from my student’s grandmother’s account.  That could be good or bad.

I got F to check it properly and it turned out that my student was sick and didn’t think she should come.  He called and talked to her mother and she said that my student was quite sick and was going to stay home.  That meant I had the day off as my other student had also cancelled.  Sigh.

We came home for a while, well, I did.  F had to have his car’s oil changed or something so I stayed home for a bit and he took care of business.  I finally got around to making my soup too.

Around 3 we went out and headed over to my doctor’s office. He’d wanted me to check in after a few days of medicine.  We got there and discovered that he was away until 5 pm.  Hmmm.

We did a little shopping for Christmas presents and got something rather nice for someone rather nice.  Then, we headed back to the doctor’s.  He checked me out and said to finish the medicine and that’s it.  Yay.

We hit the grocery store to buy a couple of things for dinner and then come home.  My plan was to have soup, salad and freshly made bread, plus a protein of some kind since the soup was all veggie.  Well, I found some chicken in the deli section, but Mr. Pickypants couldn’t find anything.  He decided to get himself 3 raw sanma (a type of fish).  One of them burst through the bag, so he double bagged it, but didn’t close it properly.  We paid for our groceries. I double bagged my chicken because I didn’t want to take the chance that his fish would break through the other bag and contaminate my chicken.

We came home, and I set up the bread maker. I was originally planning for whole wheat bread, but it doesn’t have a fast setting in my bread maker.  While the bread was making, I heated up my soup and checked the flavour.  I’d added some curry so it was delish.

When the bread was done, I tried to serve the soup, but F wanted to cook his fish first.  Then when he did cook them, he tried to give some to me.  And then he needed rice.  He didn’t eat any of the gorgeous bread until after he’d eaten everything else, thereby negating the entire need for the bread.  Me?  I ate my soup and then had some salad and the chicken I’d got at the store. I had some bread and butter with the soup. It was so nice. It was simple, the way I planned it. Why the blazes couldn’t he have settled for something simple at the store?  Why blooming raw fish that he had to sashimi part of, then had to grate daikon for the cooked bit?  NONE of it was simple.

I got quiet and then annoyed with him.  I went and ranted in the toilet room for a few minutes then came out to clean up my stuff.  Only, he’d left the cutting board in the sink, covered with a towel and probably bleach, hadn’t bothered to clean the fish grill yet and had done a bunk.  I got quite annoyed with him, and he with me and off he went.

He didn’t stay out long enough in my opinion, came back and watched crap TV until I kicked him off the TV at 10 pm.  I haven’t talked to him in hours. I think he’s sleeping in our bedroom.

I had a lovely evening watching my shows.  I had to tape one because it conflicted with another, but apart from that, I’m good.

That’s about it for me.  Don’t know if I’ll be spending time with him tomorrow or not.  I was invited by a student to go to a Tea Ceremony thing at the international centre. If someone doesn’t want to be with me, I’ll go alone.  Think I’d rather do that anyway. I had planned to make bread for the morning too, but not now.  Maybe not ever again!  Night.

I know you have to maintain secrecy but now I am trying to figure out what present you bought and for whom!!

A present for my nephew....he's going to be 8 just after Christmas. I doubt he reads my blog, so I'll give you a hint...4 letter word, begins with L and ends with O! If he doesn't want it, I'll keep it for myself! :-)

Oooh! I approve! (especially of the keeping it for yourself)

It was nice. These days, I get sick quite easily, so I'm very glad that she stayed home. I miss her, she's a good student, but we're both better off if she stays home and gets better!

Sorry to hear you've been under the weather. Me too :-(

Thanks for visiting Connie
