Tuesday - Rainy, thunder at night.

An okay day.  I woke up almost on time today and got up.  I watched House while eating breakfast and reading the paper.  It’s a nice way to start my day. It’s almost amazing how comfy I feel doing that.

I had a quiet morning in. I took a shower, watched some TV.  At 12 I toasted myself a piece bread and put my head down on the chesterfield for a minute while I watched the repeat of Castle.  I woke up when Castle was over.  I’d slept through the whole thing!  My bread was still in the toaster oven, cold.  Luckily I like it like that!

A little later, after my lunch, I set out for my school.  I was lucky and it had stopped raining so I didn’t have to wear my rain cape.  I got to the school, parked my bike and got ready for my lesson.  I waited for my student but she didn’t come. I called her, but there was no answer.  After class I worked on another class for a student and then called F.  He picked me up.

We had a cheap and cheerful dinner in Moku-Moku and then toured the MaxValu nearby for tomorrow’s dinner.

We came home and I checked my email.  I discovered that I’d received a strange response to one of my postcrossing cards.  Granted, I hadn’t been exactly polite when I sent my card.  The person in question had an extremely picky request list, and I had remarked on it.  Her response to me was more of a rant.

I’m removing her name and a link she provided to a well known  eco-terrorist group, but this is what she said in response to my dolphin card…,

“I wish dolphins were safer in Japanese waters. Unfortunately 1000's are killed each year as Japanese fishermen blame dolphins for no fish when in fact the fishermen have fished out the waters. Your waters are polluted deserts.
Dolphins have been here on earth for millions of years...and they have eaten all the fish yet! Man does.
Now this season you are after whale meat again and we will fight you so we can protect the whales from the plates of fat and rich japanese businessmen. Will you starve because you don't get whalemeat?? I don't think so.
(Link removed)
I will fight to my last breath!"
It was an interesting email to receive.
F and I spent the evening thinking/planning and scheming about a possible holiday that he wants to take and I’m a little nervous about.  It might go well. At least I hope so!
Tomorrow I hope to do a little laundry, maybe go out if I’m up to it, or maybe just relax.  I need it!
That’s it for me.  Night!

You know when I get weirdos going off on rants about Japan to me it makes me laugh. Is it not obvious to them that I am not Japanese? Do they think as a foreigner living here I am the sole cause of whatever bee has flown up their butt.

Me too. I laughed about it too.

I spent about 20 minutes trying to compose a response, but in the end I just decided that I wouldn't be able to change her mind anyway and I don't need the aggro.

Thanks for visiting!

I'm so sorry you came across a rude postcrosser. Thank goodness most are friendly and understanding.

I've seen some with picky likes too, which makes me just want to send my ugliest card to them. Yes, I'm a meanie.

On the other hand, I came across one who had no requests and said to send her your misfit cards, ugly, old, yellowed, bent, creased, whatever! I thought that was really kind of her and embodied the true idea of postcrossing.

Honestly Crafty, her profile was beyond picky!

I'm not sure if she wrote what she did because she thought I was Japanese, or because I told her that I hadn't seen a profile quite like hers before. Either way, it was over the top.

I had only one card that I could send and I have a huge selection! Oh well, I probably won't get her again so I'm done with her!

I quite like the people who say "send anything" too, but I also like having a guideline. I want to make people happy if I can!
