Friday - Cold and rainy

Happy Birthday F!

Had a good day today.  I slept in really late, but then again I went to bed after four last night. I was up watching an old Marilyn Monroe movie.  She was great, the movie wasn’t.  

When I finally got up, we hemmed and hawed about lunch, finally deciding to go to a yakiniku restaurant.  It wasn’t bad.  After that, we did a little shopping in S-Mall, and then had a cup of tea to relax.  F asked if I’d like to go to karaoke and I said yes.  However, since we’ve both had recent health problems, I suggested just going for an hour and seeing how it went.  I think it was a good call.  

We didn’t go to our usual place, we went to a more upscale joint, but they didn’t have a book with foreign songs.  They only had about 6 pages at the back of the Japanese book.  I call baloney to be honest!  I think that they just didn’t want to go looking for another book, or they were all out in other rooms.

After our hour was up, we came home for a little and relaxed.  Around 7 we headed over to Grado and had a very nice meal.  F had made a reservation for us. He had received an email from them saying that he’d get a present if we went there on his birthday, but one didn’t appear.  He said he didn’t care, but part of me thinks he does!  We did have a lovely meal though.  We had chicken in herb panko and grilled suzuki.  Lots of veggies and soup, and there was even dessert too.  It was all very delicious.  

We came home afterwards and relaxed.  F finally served up the cake I bought him yesterday and it was very good. I had gotten a lovely chocolate one for me, and a plainish one for him.  He said that it was part cheesecake, and he likes that, so I chose well.

A quiet night followed.  I set up the bread maker for 10 am tomorrow. I’m going to heat up the stew for our lunch and we’ll have that with home made whole wheat bread.  I think it sounds delish!

Tomorrow I have a class early on and then I might go and see the doctor in the afternoon.  We might go and see a movie if we feel like it in the evening.  Depends really!
