Friday - Snowy, windy and cold

An okay day

I got up more or less on time and took my shower right away.  I had to leave early so wanted my hair to be dry for my walk to work.  

In the morning I didn’t have much time for anything except watching the news and doing a little computer stuff.  Around 11:30 I started making my omelette and then I ate it and some of the bread from the other night.  

I left the apartment before 1:00 pm and began the long trek to the apartment.  It was snowing and blowing out there and was thoroughly unpleasant out.  The snow was fairly deep in spots, although most of the walkways were cleared.  

I got to my school and dropped off my backpack before grabbing my snow scoop and going to the parking lot. Egad.  Last night F said the snow was 7 cm thick, now it was at least a couple more.  I managed to get my space cleared, and did a bit of the trail to my school.  I also had to do along the corridor to my school as there was snow all over it.  

I could hear the snowplough in the distance and I was crossing my fingers and toes that it wouldn’t block the entrance to the parking lot.  I cleared snow for an hour straight and it didn’t come by.  Whew!  I vowed to come out again just before class to check everything again.

I went into the school, changed my clothes, set up the water pot,  and reviewed my lesson.  I went back out just after 3 and checked everything.  I cleaned off a tiny amount of snow and went back to my school, just before my student arrived.  I just had time to hang up my coat and use the washroom before she arrived.  

We had a good lesson, but during the class I thought I heard the plough go down my side road. Horror!  Would my student be trapped?  I went outside with her after my class and it was fine.  The plough didn’t go by, so I didn’t have to open up the driveway.  Whew.

I went back in and did paperwork and did a bit of prep for next time.  F called, but I needed more time.  I finally finished up and he picked me up.  

We had dinner in Togashi tonight. It’s our favourite yakiniku place, but for some reason we haven’t gone there in ages.  We had a lovely meal and then just came home afterwards.  

We watched Tower Heist,  and afterwards F just went to bed.  He’s so tired these days.  Me too though.  I stayed up and watched Shameless. It was a bit sad tonight.  

Anyway, that’s it for today. Tomorrow I work, should have two classes for a change and then I’ll be done.  I hope we get up to something fun this weekend. It’s a long weekend, so I’ll have to have a bit of patience with hubby underfoot all weekend!  Got to go.  Night.
