Saturday - Snow, clear, rain

A good day.

I got up a little late, but still fine, showered and then spent a small amount of time on my computer.  After that, F and I went to Gusto from brunch, followed by a trip to my school.  Yay.  We went early to shovel snow, since there had been a lot overnight.

We each took a different area and quickly got the spaces clean.  We heard the snowplow zooming around the area, but it didn’t come to my street before my first class.

My student came on time and we had a good class.  She’s doing so well.  Today we talked about the alphabet and how to spell things.  She knows the alphabet, but the actual spelling of things out loud was something that she hadn’t done much of before.

After her class, I did paperwork and relaxed for a bit.  Then, at 3 I went out to the parking lot for a check.  The space had snowed under a bit, but worse, much worse, the snowplow had blocked our driveway entrance. Ack.  I shovelled it and got it back open, then quickly re-did my parking space.  I went into the school a few short minutes before my class.  Time came, but my student didn’t, so I called her.  She said she’d come, but a bit later.

I waited for my student, and did a little reading.  She came with about 10 minutes left in class.  We chatted, did a little business, checked schedules and then she left.

I finished up rather quickly. I’d been at my school for 5 or 6 hours and I wanted to go out tonight.  I did paperwork quickly and then the dishes.  Finally, I called F.  No answer so I left a message.  I called a few minutes later. Rinse and repeat.  I texted him.  Nothing.  Finally, a mere 45 minutes after my first call, I called him on the apartment phone.  He was there, with his cellphone in his pocket.  For some reason his phone didn’t ring or vibrate.  Hmm.  This really ticked me off.

He came to pick me up, and we made a quick stop at home to check times of movies, then headed out to Mikawa to see Looper.  We had a quick bite to eat at the food court and then saw the movie.  I liked it.  They had ideas!  This was not a movie I’d seen a million times before.  It wasn’t perfect, but it was entertaining and a little thought provoking.

We came home via Mosburgers.  We were both a bit peckish.  At home, I watched quite a bit of TV, including the start of the first Celebrity Apprentice.  Poor David Cassidy.  My old idol.

That’s about it.  F set up the bread maker for tomorrow, but I’m going to sleep in.  I’m quite tired, so I think I’ll finish up now and get some shuteye.  Got to go.  Night.

I hadn't heard about Looper before this. Sounds interesting from what I see online. (I don't think it played in my city, or it's long gone if it did.) Bruce Willis sometimes picks these strange, science-fiction-y movies, like 12 Monkeys (which is amazing, by the way, in case you haven't seen it!).

I think that Bruce Willis is quite under-rated as an actor! I saw 12 Monkeys years ago and I didn't like it much. Is it worth a look again? I've honestly tried to avoid it!

I think Looper would have played a while ago since it should be out on DVD soon. I enjoyed it. YMMV, but it wasn't the same old time travel movie...I think!

Thanks for stopping by!

How funny--I recall not liking 12 Monkeys much the first time either. I only saw it again because Dave liked it. But the 2nd time was better, oddly. Maybe worth a 2nd look?

I agree that Bruce Willis is underrated. (I really like him in The 5th Element.) I've read that he's a pain in the butt to work with though, so maybe that's why he doesn't get better roles.

I hadn't heard that about Bruce. I'm a bit surprised! He was good in The 5th Element...my favourite is still DieHard though!

I'll keep an eye out for 12 Monkeys. Maybe I'll give it another try! Thanks for the recommendation.
