Friday - Cold and snowy, very windy

A good day.

I got up fairly early this morning, watched a bit of TV and ate my breakfast.  F had made some French bread in the bread maker, so I had some of that and yogurt this morning. Yum.

I watched a bit of TV this morning and just took things easy.  I saw the first episode of The Closer today and enjoyed it.  It helped me understand a few things about the show that I didn’t know before.

In the afternoon I did a couple of Postcrossing cards up while watching Sister Act and then did a bit of scanning.  Around 4:30 I girded myself for battle and headed out into the cold.  I walked over to the post office and mailed off some cards and a couple of envelopes.  I also bought some more 50 yen stamps.  After I left the post office I was greatly saddened to see that the vending machine no longer sells my favourite canned tea.  Drat!

I walked home, dumped my handbag in my apartment and then grabbed the snow shovel and cleared out F’s parking space.  I couldn’t go down to the ground, but I made it much easier to see where the borders are on the space.  F called me while I was shovelling and I couldn’t hit the right button while wearing my gloves!  I hung up on him accidentally and then I had to call him back.  He was just telling me that he would be late tonight.

When I finished, I came into the apartment and I vacuumed.  For a change I started at the other end of the house so I wouldn’t be tired of it yet.  I did a fairly good job.  I got some nasty cobwebs and vacuumed our heater as it’s been smelling awful lately.  It didn’t help that, but the apartment looks better.  Yay.

I had just put the vacuum away and was doing dishes and watching Nigel Slater when F came home.  He was tired, poor thing.  He brought me some chocolates.  Nigel was making things with rhubarb (rhubarb tarts and then as a sauce for mackerel) so now I’m really jonesing for rhubarb!  I haven’t had any in years.

We had dinner at a fish restaurant tonight. I had a vegetable stirfry. It did have some meat on it, and was mostly very good. I picked out all of the green pepper, but ate the rest of it!  We also stopped by my school to check out the snow situation and to set the heater for tomorrow.

We came home and had a fairly quiet night in.  I watched a bit of TV again tonight, and enjoyed most of it. That’s about it for my day.  Tomorrow I have an early class and then I’m done.  I’m not sure what we’ll do as far as the rest of the weekend.  I’d like to pick up a few things for our trip but apart from that, who knows? Talk to you tomorrow.  Night!
