Thursday - Cold with blowing snow and patches of blue sky

A good day.

We both stayed up late last night, but I was up a bit later.  F went to bed before me and was very chipper when he got up in the morning.  Don’t know how he does it!

I got up, and toasted a couple of bagels for us.  We had them and checked email, etc.  Then we got dressed and went out.  F and I drove over to Sakata to meet up with a friend and her toddler.  We had lunch together and did a little bit of playing in the kiddies section of the store.  They have a play area set up that is rather nice for little children.

When my friend had to leave, F and I toured the 100 yen shop and got a few things for ourselves, then went back to the car.  We drove to Aeon Sakata.  We were on the hunt for the new Subway restaurant.  We found it, and got ourselves a couple of footlong sandwiches to take out for our dinner.  The man who made our sandwich was very slow.  I think I could have made the sandwich faster.  I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt, but when Undercover Boss did Subway, the company boss got fired for taking too long…and he was faster than this guy!

We drove back to Tsuruoka and we went to my school to set the heater for tomorrow.  We came home and discovered a message from tomorrow’s student asking for a make-up.  Sigh.  We decided to eat our dinner before going back to the school.

I split the sandwiches so we each had half of a salmon and mascapone and half a pastrami and pickled cabbage sandwich.  Yum.  There wasn’t much talking for that portion of the evening as we were too busy eating.  Yum, yum, yum.  I love Subway.  What a treat to have one fairly close by.  Not that I can get there by myself or anything.  Boo!

F was about to fall asleep when I asked him to take me out again.  We went to the drugstore to pick up some things…some were for my school, and some were for us at home…new toothbrushes for example.  Then, we hit my school and I went in and unplugged the heater.  I’ll probably have to go through the plugging in tomorrow night though.

We came home and had a fairly relaxing and quiet evening.  I watched quite a lot of TV, including House, Bones and Sherlock.  Hmm.  Didn’t I watch those last night?  Different episodes though.

For the last half of Sherlock I sat on the couch and did a little crochet tonight.  Yay.  I also served up some of the mincemeat tarts with ice cream.  I’m glad to finally have them.

And that was my day.  F went to bed soon after his bath and is now sleeping. He has to work tomorrow and I had planned to as well.  Instead I may use the time to catch up on some of the work I’ve been skiving lately.  Come back tomorrow night and see what I get up to!  Night.
