Monday - Clear, cool, with a little snow later on

An okay day.

I got up this morning almost on time, and caught the end of Grey’s Anatomy. I also had my breakfast and read a couple of newspapers.

I had a quiet afternoon.  F did call and offer to take me to lunch, but I said no.  I said quite truthfully that when I’m worried about him getting back to work, I don’t enjoy myself that much.  I’d rather wait until the roads are better.

I wrote up another postcrossing this morning and then scanned them in the afternoon.  I really need to do another entry or I’ll get very behind.  I haven’t had any cards go through in a few days so I’m at my limit now.

When F came home, we went over to my school and I set the heater for tomorrow.  F checked the parking space and said it was still clear.  Yay.  We came straight home and I started dinner while he did laundry and other things around the apartment.

Tonight we had pasta with mushroom Alfredo sauce, shrimp and salad.  It was nice, but as usual F dawdled and wouldn’t come to the table until things were cooling off.  I am so frustrated with him because I like my food hot!

He was very tired, so I let him off the dishes but he had to go to bed.  He did and slept for a long time (although he says he didn’t sleep).

I watched a bit of TV, including Eraserhead, the David Lynch movie.  That was so weird!  I’d heard about it but hadn’t seen it before tonight.

F got up around 11 to take his bath. He’s still up, and has turned the TV back on to my annoyance!  He also went on a food crawl. It’s typical.  I set up the bread maker for the morning, but just with plain old white bread.  I hope it’ll be good.

Anyway, tomorrow I’m back at work and I have a lot of things to get done before I go. I’ll most likely have to walk unless we get a heatwave before morning.  Ha!  Night.

Your bread in the last entry looks so yummy! I was picturing more of a tea loaf, but that is proper bread, isn't it?

Is it a Japanese thing to not care about the temperature of the food? I noticed it in my time in Japan, too, that people didn't seem to much notice if hot things weren't hot and cold things weren't cold. Makes me nuts though!

Thank you! It really was yummy! I found the recipe on-line and adapted it for our bread maker. The first time I made it the bread didn't rise (I'd done the quick option) but still tasted good, so I wanted to try it again. I used half whole wheat flour with it this time and it added a little bit of bite to the bread. Definitely a proper loaf of bread! A bit like raisin bread, but different enough that it was a treat. And the smell when toasting....oh my :-)

Yes, it is a Japanese thing not to notice food temperature. It drives me nuts too as I like my hot food hot and cold food cold. I will often give my husband a 5 minute warning when I think dinner will be ready and he'll wait until the last 30 seconds before going to the washroom or changing his clothes or whatever!

Thanks for visiting again!
